There are no easy 2 pts in the nrl. Penrith just didn't show up today, it's really as simple as that. They generally start slow and build into the year, so souths got them at a good time. By seasons end they will still be a team no one wants to play.

I think we would prefer Campbelltown to be a wet track. It suits our style if games this week turn into mud-wrestling.

I watched their Thrive or Survive doco, looks like Bunji's toughening them up physically and mentally, you'll have to be a very good team to beat them this year. They all say that on these pre-season camps though, until you get punched in the face as Webby says.

Panthers working seriously uphill now to be 5 Consecutive. Still Finals, maybe Semi-Finals but that performance - even allowing for the 18-0 second half - was too bad to make me think they're still in the Top 4 for GF.

Yeah, totally agree about it being a pivotal moment. At the time it made my blood boil given what Saab got away with at Mt Smart 2 weeks ago. But to play devils advocate, Penrith were just not themselves last night. I still reckon they would have found a way to lose that game, just like that game against the chooks. Really does put the form of the roosters in perspective though: they clearly got the Panthers at the right time given how they are struggling atm.

Been light rain last couple of days and expected to continue/get a bit heavier over the next couple of days.
Have a club game tomorrow that’s a bit ‘wait and see’.

SJ was on some podcast talking about how we should attack the Tigers. I think his reasoning was right: own the middle and take Api out of the game by running our forwards at him all game. He is really the head of the snake that is the Tigers spine. They like to bring on their dynamic reserve hooker in the final parts of each half (mins 20-40 and 60-80), so that's when we should ideally bring Leka and Demetric into the game to counter their energy.
