NRL NRL 2025 Draw

So obviously we start in Vegas on the 1st March and that is classed as an away game from my understanding (correct me if I am wrong). I can also see it is generally mid-November when they announce the full draw. But can anyone confirm if there is a 2 week period for the teams that go to Vegas i.e. Round 2 is on the 14/15th March? Assuming this will be a home game, but guess it could go either way.

Already beginning to plan my summer holidays through to Easter so any clarity for me would be awesome.

Do they normally only release the round 1 draw? Interested as to why they haven’t realised it all at once?

The full draw was out by this stage last year.

This is probably just a bit of a teaser while they're still finalising the last little bits of the full draw.

The NRL don't normally. But one of the Sydney newspapers often get the round 1 draw ahead of time and release it. Probably leaked purposefully to the papers by the NRL to generate a bit more hype. This time they are just releasing it themselves.

Been speculating that we won't be at home when Auckland FC are. (I think all their home games are Saturday at 5pm). So what do we reckon:

Week 1 in Vegas
Week 1.5 rest
Week 2 away (Auckland FC home game)
Weeks 3 & 4 home
Week 5 away (Auckland FC home game)
Weeks 6 & 7 home (possible CHCH for one)
Week 8 away (ANZAC)

Unless there's a bye in there, of course.

Auckland FCs game during Round 2 is on a Sunday so I think we still can (and will) get the first Friday, 6pm Aussie/8pm NZ, slot at home.

I am quietly hoping for an away game in Round 2, though.

The first month or so of the year is going to be cooked af for us, we have to back up from the trip, guaranteed to be playing the Sharks or Panthers in week 2, and they'll want to push the Melbourne game in there early too. I'd rather we get the fuckery out the way first and then have home games loaded during the Origin period/Leading into finals.

Selfishly, I also need my wallet to recover from going to US to watch the boys as well 😂

Was originally going to just predict Round 2/3, but it got out of hand lol; anyway, this is how I reckon we look from Vegas to Magic Round:
• Sun March 2nd, Vegas against the Raiders
• Fri March 14th, Home at 8pm against the Sharks
• Sat March 22nd, Away at 10pm against the Storm
• Fri March 28th, ChCh at 8pm against someone, I'll say the Dragons or Tigers
• Sat April 5th, Away at 8pm against the Panthers
• Sun April 13th, Home at 6pm against the Broncos
• Sat/Sun April 19th/20th, Away against someone, I'll say the Bulldogs or Knights
• Fri April 25th, Home at 4pm against the Titans
• Sun May 3rd, Suncorp against the Panthers

Panthers away twice in a month, typical stitchup.

In the Dolphins era there have been a lot of those instances with 2 games against the same team in a 4/5 week span, certainly wouldn't put it past the NRL lol

But thinking about it more, they'll probably give us a proper home/away against the Panthers, rather than Magic Round.

Penrith have escaped a trip to Auckland since 2019, which, since Parra came over this season, leaves them as the only team not to have to make the trip over since we have been back.. There is a conspiracy theory to be had there

I still maintain that we'll get an away game against them in the opening month or two; they'll want to get that JFH return/2024 Magic Round revenge game early, but Panthers at Mt Smart between Round 21-27 is my new prediction for the second matchup, with some other random Sydney team against us for Magic Round

I dont think the Warriors / AFC co-tenancy will be too difficult to schedule.
I had a look 6 months or so ago, and it is quite common for Allianz Stadium and AAMI Park to have 2 different sports on the same weekend (League/Football/Rugby)
Mt Smart already did it this year as well. Moana Pasifika Sat 25th May and Warriors vs Dolphins Sun 26th May
It is something we will need to get used to with all of the discussions on stadiums. Most of the re-arranging of sports or proposals for a national stadium would require teams to share the same ground.

If we move to central city stadium for example we'd be sharing with the Blues.

The club already notifies the NRL on All Blacks tests to avoid clashes there. It would just take a bit more to organise with other sides potentially already booked.

Glad they pushed this back a game. Would have likely been pretty deflating otherwiseView attachment 10034

Guess I can understand wanting to get back as soon as possible but my god, what an awful idea that was

Maybe the idea was that the team would be so amped up that we'd knock them off? idk, but very grateful it didn't happen

Come to think of it, I'm pretty sure I was meant to get my ticket for the first Mount Smart game of 2023 for "free" off the back of that being cancelled, but never got it.. ah well lol
