I think he’d be different to AFB, but it feels like a similar situation where AFB was released with an ill family member, but stuck around for the 2024 season anyway. You’d think that Barnett would want to get to the place that’s best for his child’s health pronto? Is this where the player offered from another team comes into consideration for us to release him this year?

I would say so, the player swap would be for this year.

In terms of leaving asap i think his son is with him now so the support is there its more the help from the extended family and them seeing him that prompts the move. Unless its some weird medical procedure surely Auckland would have the ability to treat
 
Off to the Broncos officially on a 3 year deal, richly deserved and best of luck.

No talk of a replacement unless released early.
