NRL Manly-Warringah Sea Eagles

Can smith? I wouldn’t have dce in the same conversation.
Hes had a long career but not in the same class as smith.
Based on last years form fogarty is an upgrade.
For sure DCE is not in the same league but IMO his impact and influence for Manly for so long is as effective as Smiths at the Storm.

Hmm idk- hes a good player but I don’t think id have in my top 10 all time halfbacks for example.
Hes never been very popular with his team mates either so I'm wondering if it could actually have a positive effect on the squad.
Have to wait and see I suppose- I do a agree they need to stay fit to stay competitive.

Good luck to Foran. Despite his troubles mid-career and while with us, he has always been one of my favorite Kiwis and Manly players. He has almost a full season to learn what it takes to be a coach.

Pretty shocked Jim Dymock didn't get handed the reins.

Foran is the meat in the sandwich between pissed off fans and the Clubs ineptitude.

Picking him is a hope the supporters won't want to have a go at a club legend.

Don't do it Fozz!.....too late.....good luck bro. Manly are a pack of w*nkers in purple jerseys.

Foran annouced as interam coach for the rest of the season. Bit strange considering he only hung up the boots last season and has only been asstiant coach for 3 games.
His old man’s Greg Foran is a highly successful businessman (Walmart and air NZ CEO) and Foz has the same smarts to make a real go of it.

Honestly think he doesn’t have any experience and will struggle but if anyone can pull it off as a first season coach, he’s got as good a chance as anyone.

Foz has been a very good footy player for a very long time and I wish him and the titans all the best with this appointment

To mention his old man and smarts and Foz all in the same sentence is a bit of a stretch to be polite

It is going to be a tough gig to take over. He retired last year and only has a pre-season and 3 games as an assistant.

Yes, he's experienced as a player and familiar with a lot that happens around a team. Still, a head coach needs to do a lot of media and can miss time away from the team. As an interim coming in now, time with the team will be essential.

I've heard Jim Dymock discussed. He used to be discussed as a future NRL coach but that has died off as others have been the next big thing. Would be interesting to see why they went with Foran instead of the more experienced guy. If it is mainly as Foran is an old boy. Then they are in trouble.

Seen comments about how Manly have always been best with an ex Manly player. Sure they'd be familiar with the internal politics. But the examples used are quite a while ago, different times. The later example with Hasler I'm sure he had some coaching in the lower grades.
