Just watched a reply and Laban stood head and shoulders above everyone. Looks nearly 5-10cm taller than Barnett and Wahs list him at 187cm. He dwarfed Souths Jacob Host whose listed at 1.9cm. Post match interview with Halligan (who 1.92cm) and he was a touched taller than him as well. Labans a unit and he’s still just 19yrs
I've said this a few times. Someone on here is adamant he is 6ft2. 6ft2 when he was 12 maybe 🤣 Cos hes way bigger than that. Eddie Ieremia -Toeava looks like a unit also! Got some good youngens coming thru!

I guess one thing that can throw the heights out is that ASICS boots are a bit higher in the heel which is supposed to help prevent injury.

He must have grown since the Warriors posted his stats because they look way off.

Agree he looks like a monster out there.

Very similar Physique to Latrell, standing together Jacob looked taller, probably the hair.

I like how he has natural skinny arms of a footballer rather than a Gym Rat.
I don't think they ever update the players physical stats after they first post them up. Weights can't be anything but preseason as they're listed too light in general. Might be that the club want to keep those things quiet.

Funny thing is that the players always look bigger on the field than they do off the field for some reason, it might be the difference in clothing, boot heel height or just our general perception.

I saw Jacob a few times last year, he was certainly taller that 6'2, my guesstimate is 6'4.

I saw Ieremia play sevens, he was a tad lighter but what stood out was he was fast and quite strong. I thought he was a winger or a centre. When forwards have that explosive power it is usually a good sign. Hope he develops well.

Ooft

Laban has at least six tackle breaks in all three games of NSW Cup this season and his development would have been a factor in NZW shuffling Josh Curran out of the mix.

Wow he got Curran moved on. Theres a lesson to the other lads. Be so good you cant be a back up.

Well if he’s teachable, he could be one hell of a player. He’s got some speed, a big tall frame, can run a good line and can tackle. He has the best ball playing half to run off and a heap of experience around him to really excel. The sky’s the limit if he’s prepared to learn and put in the work. Hope he does!

He probably won't have that half when he's first pick first grader.

Halasima struggles in NSW cup to make an impact, he is a fan love child due to age and size for his age, otherwise he is barely at par for the NSW cup.

Zyon Maiu’u gets love because of his leg tats. the Bear...or Pe....ah...phonetically spelt Pe'a....

Neither of those guys have anywhere near the workrate nor fitness of Jacob laban who is a tackle busting big engine no flashy type stepper and game breaker.
Laban is a monster.

The difference between Zyon Maiu’u, Halasima, and Laban is the former are rated based off fans looking at their weight on the scales, their height, and their age.

I rate Laban from the beginning off watching his game play.
The fact he is big and young to me is just a bonus, I believe in watching games to pick out who can actually play this sport rather than going silly about a player that is has a much bigger body than his age, or a player that looks mean and has not much else going for them.
Not sure whether you were drunk or what when you posted this but it is so full of shit its actually beneath you bro. The generalisations are just ridiculous.

Leka Halasima is rated because like Laban he is the top prospect for his age group and can actually play. He has been owning his age group for years and has the potential to go toe to toe with men in the next couple of years given the chance.

Fans like Zyon Maiu’u because he is a hard running, hard nosed player who can step off both feet and is extremely quick off the mark for his size. To suggest he is liked because his tattoos, like fans don't know shit about potential, is one of the most arrogant things I have ever seen posted.

There is no need to play these 3 fine young men off each other nor belittle your fellow fans because you think you know better. Just stop...

Jacob and Zyon Maiu’u walked out of school and out of the family home to live in hotels in Aus for two years playing various grades for a club that didn't want any Warriors players except for the ones that they could poach. Zyon Maiu’u had his pick of rugby and league clubs to go to but chose to do the hard yards with the Warriors. He'd have debuted a year ago if he'd signed anywhere else. Fans see a power player that made a mistake in a trial. I saw a teenager on the athletics track that knew that he was too big to win any races but wanted to get faster so he'd be better at league and put years of sprint training in from a very young age. These boys have paid their dues.

That's a great write up on Niche Cache.

Jacobs debut video from the club in his speech, what a mature and level headed guy for just 19

He already understands the opportunity ahead of him. Strikes me as a guy that will never stop working

I suspect he could very quickly force his way into the team. Depsite the age, some kids you just don't drop!

Go well big man

I'd love for him to become a club great, not ready to say he's the next Mannering or reincarnation of Steven Kearney yet but his debut was as impressive as Ali's, both the best Warriors juniors I've seen debut since Katoa.
