Were you guys even watching the 2nd half? We had all the momentum until CNK unforced error and they scored a couple of freakish tries, especially that one where Hau scored from 2 desperate bat backs. Was pleasing to see we were generally pretty good around the ruck where they tried to offload through the ruck like they did last week with little success. Just good to get the win, Titans are a team on the improve.
Good sensible post. 100% agree.

I don't think I mentioned him not being built for fullback?

Think I said his legs are made from paper mache, which i'm happy to stand by until proven otherwise.

- 2x ACL
- 1x broken leg
- Chronic hamstring issues

Him at fullback just reminds me of Turbo is all. Fullbacks cover the most ground, usually 20 runs per game.

Geezus that’s a bad history of injuries

His legs are rooted and we gave him a max contract??????? That’s honestly quite irresponsible of the club but it’s mohawks cash so we’ll allow it 💰

Benefit of hindsight looking back now. Back when he signed.....far and away our best half.....now our forward pack has become elite, CHT has definitely taken a big step up, Boyd shown his quality.....AKP and Ali getting better.....RTS and Dallin deciding 'no we aren't done yet' and rolling back the years. All of a sudden, it's a completely different side to last year even though there haven't been many changes.....

Hmmmm …. we weren’t saying this two weeks ago after we lost to Cronulla… it was all doom and gloom …. It’s crazy how the narrative changes when we win and lose …

Before RTS couldn’t catch a bomb to save his life, small hands Jackson Ford was dropping balls, Ali was in Cup, Pompey was giving away brain dead penalties, Boyd was missing penalties, chokeaholic, Egan was getting knocked out, Dalin was trying to intercept passes rather than making a tackle, Taine too small, Leka and Laban overrated ….

But Now winning the premiership is back on the menu boys!!

I personally didn't say much of that, especially not the ridiculous RTS slander ...people thought he would phone it in the rest of the year after his announcement.

Wasn't impressed with Ali early on but it was CNK who stood out like a sore thumb v the Sharks.

Anyone bagging Dallin for his performances this year is just silly, he's been at his best bar maybe a yard a pace from his youth.

In any case I'm not talking about this season, I'm talking about when we re-signed Luke Metcalf. The team wasn't thought of then like it is now by anyone.

This time last year I think we were also sitting 2nd on the ladder. But last year it felt kind of fake: we were fluking it with the heart attack wins built on Mets clutch plays (aka Cowboys in Magic Round, Broncos at MSS, etc). Still early days, but this year we genuinely look like the 2nd best team: we have the 2nd best attack (only 6 pts behind Penrith), the 2nd best points differential and leading many of the key attacking stats. Maybe Boyd doesn't have the clutch/x-factor that Mets has, but when he is in control we are never putting ourselves in a position where we need to worry about the result in the final quarter of games.

We just feel more like a genuine top 4 team this year. A lot of that has to do with Tannah having more confidence that this is his team. I also think our forward pack has grown another level this year. Missing Barney and dropping out of the 4 last year wasn't ideal, but it did coincide with giving Demi, Jake, Leka, TSS and EIT a more regular run of first grade games. We are seeing the fruits of that this year. The dominance of our pack trumps what it did last year.

That's why I'm like let the combo play out until expiry date, if Boyd nails those goals at the death than he's unanimous of best 7, if he chokes then people will be screaming for Metcalf in the post-game thread immediately. Young Luke just need to show patience to see if Boyd is his daddy.

But I suppose it depends how much and what media outlets you watch. I see a fair few outlets placing our success, this year, on his shoulders and his 'Australian Schoolboy' background, how he was destined for greatness.

Maybe I'm reading into it a little too much.
Yep I hear you on all of this. It's a long way from last year vs Newy for Tanah.

I'm not that stressed about these selection issues. At the end of the day, all of the difficult decisions webby has to make (Luke vs Tannah, CNK vs Taine, Pompey vs AKP, etc) will probably be forced upon him by injury anyway. Just let nature take its course haha.

How did Leka get 3? 10/10 for doing a knee stunt? CHT has like 0 points this season lol

It's gonna be Cleary once they go under table

I agree. One judge thought he was best on park & the other thought he wasn't even top 3. So subjective

Maybe it should just be legends like SJ, Slater, Freddie etc 1 represent each team publicly voting week 1-27, if they wanna make it dramatic just have a weekly 5-10min video of unveiling the numbers, and they have to back up the points with stats or moments (preferably stats to make it objective). They can still gang up and rig it but their reputation will cop it if they try.
