He just seems like the perfect guy to absorb everything off Fish. I think he went a bit too hard last season, let his emotions get in the way a little and gassed himself too quick or missed a couple crucial tackles over playing his hand. Excited for his future, 20-30 mins impact off the bench this season I reckon.

Would love to know what people think he would have signed for?
Obviously massive potential (I could see him being one of the top forwards in the game by the end of 2028) but that's all potential with bugger all in first grade so far.

I find that difficult to put a price on...

Bugger all probably bro. 150-200k imo. He’s young, inexperienced, and is Auckland hard, wants to win a comp here. Would’ve been locked up for a few years for not much, maybe some clauses pending performance/games played

Yeah I could see some clauses for hitting goals the way he speaks and the desire to get better through senior players guidance. The club obviously confident of him to not have any club options in the extension like he previously had and he’s obviously wanting to stay here long term to not have any player options put in there

I dont think a good manager would let a young highly rated prospect sign that long that low.

It may start that low and increase over the years.

Yeah when Katoa was given a similar contract back in the day (different management I know) it ended up being around $400k a season. Given $130 is the minimum, as you say it wouldn’t make sense to sign long term close to the minimum

Yeah obviously I’ve got no idea but he hasn’t proven anything yet & is still very young. Putting on the shoes of a young athlete, I’d want security first and foremost.

I’d be taking a 3 year deal at 200-300k, knowing I know where I’m going to be for the foreseeable future + learning off the kiwis captain & an Australian prop. I honestly don’t think he’d have signed for much more than 200k.
