The upcoming historic Anzac Day match against Newcastle at Apollo Projects Stadium has been completely sold out three weeks ahead of the game. This marks the third sell-out in 14 months, following the same trend for last year's Preseason Challenge against Wests Tigers in February and the round three home game against Canberra two months later.
The Warriors' round seven home match against the Brisbane Broncos at Go Media Stadium on April 19 also sold out well in advance, further emphasising the dedication of the fans. These sell-outs not only highlight the devotion of the supporters but also underscore the significance of the partnership the Warriors forged with Venues Ōtautahi and Christchurch NZ in late 2023 to bring National Rugby League (NRL) home games to New Zealand's second-largest city.
The partnership's last match will see the Warriors play at the future One New Zealand Stadium (Te Kaha), set to open next year.
One New Zealand Warriors CEO, Cameron George, expressed his appreciation for the Christchurch fans' enduring support, saying "It’s absolutely terrific the way fans in Christchurch keep showing their support for the Warriors." He further emphasised the bond between the club and the city, stating that the agreement has not only benefited the club but also boosted the economy of Christchurch and the Canterbury region.
The club is eagerly anticipating their return to Christchurch for the Anzac Day match and the inaugural game at One New Zealand Stadium next year, which Cameron George described as "one of the biggest events in our club's history."
