I’m sorry to say, his attacking drop off mid season onwards has been worrying to say the least.

Literally a hit up merchant now, attack/momentum pretty much dies with him. Of course, I respect the work that he gets done - but I think I’m in the Taine camp now

I believe CNK simply doesn’t offer anything in terms of attack, or very little.

TT showed in the early rounds that can get around without the post contact metres; and more importantly- offers another threat in the opposition 20. He’s also made some huge 1 on 1 try savers, while CNK just looks slower all round.
We had these exact same posts end of last season and many picked TT for their team this year… but Websters plan needs a bigger fullback.

Unfortunately, as good as Tuaupiki is, I don’t think he’s the answer either.

I don’t know what the answer is but it’s a challenge to solve for next year.

The most frustrating part for me is over the last 2 weeks he finally looked like he remembered he's allowed to pass the ball on sweep plays. Last week he did that nice cut out, last night he did the nice delayed pass to Leka.

Where the hell is that every other time? Crowd around me was groaning every time he took a run on their goal line and refused to pass.

He's all heart but it's depressing when you look at how undynamic he is compared to nearly every other FB in the comp. He just doesn't have the skillset we need, namely the utter lack of support play.

He also is so buggered from all the hit ups he cannot defend one on one. I am in the neither camp. TT seems like a Temu version of Kini. I would prefer a fullback with some ball playing ability. I know people will say how will we get yardage but what is the point of all this yardage if we cannot score with it.

Hes a good footballer, but we are not getting any better with him and the likes and Webby said as much in the presser. If we dont improve we stay where we are, and to me that means new personal.

Its not totally inconceivable to see RTS back at 1 fir his last season, and CNK moved to right centre, to make way for a new winger, perhaps AKP.

I dont think tain is the answer, but the club does need to find another FB option for 27.

Herbie Farnworth would be my top pick but he would cost an arm and would he even want to come?

Could we go for a totally unproven player in Mason Barber? Huge risk but is he ready like iongi was this year?

I love CNK, all heart and effort. But I agree, his limited attack was not helping this season, especially with no Metcalf. You need a modern fullback to provide some spark and pace, every time there has been a half break no one is there. He's struggling to beat players. Has a little ball play, but generally it hasn't clicked this year.

We have him for 2 more years, and I don't think he has the rights on the 1 jersey like he has had previously. Taine I don't think is the long term answer, I really hope Jye Linnane is seen another option. Has the speed and spark. Could he be our Keo Weekes? Because With Metcalf out there with CHT and CNK.. There's just bugger all to create attack.

It's a synergy thing for mine. Your FB, HB and 5/8 HAVE to know what each other are up to, at all times. (See Slater, Cronk and Smith)

You can't question CNKs heart and dedication, but I just don't see that sort of synergy being developed with Lukey Met.

Thus, that spot is under utilized (on attack, atleast) while he's playing there.
