International "Changes to SOO"

Wow eligible Kiwi and English players can play Origin now.

Now there's good Origin news. Let's go, our Mozzies can cash them Origin cheques and still rep the Kiwis.

Wow eligible Kiwi and English players can play Origin now.

I can see some Aussie fans heads exploding haha.
They already had disdain for the Island lads representing their cultures now the Kiwis and English will drive them over the edge.
Good on Vlandys, times have changed and this will strengthen Origin and International footy.

So is this potentially the end of the "Warriors Always Have It Easy During Origin" narrative that's dogged/helped us since Season 1?

I wonder how it could effect our Australian players than become NZ eligible through residency.

Metcalf (and Egan) has been residing in NZ since November 2022 or thereabouts, so he will be Kiwis eligible in November of next year. Come November next year, Jahrome Hughes will be 33 🤷‍♂️

Great news. AFB, Casey McLean, Briton Nikora etc, instantly become eligible now.

And Ponga can now represent Kiwis without fear it would block Qld rep.
Seems like a win, win for everyone. Was Nikora in Sydney before he was 13?

Ponga, Howarth, Piakura major additions to the kiwis (assuming they all jump ship)

Plus Egan and Metcalf potentially.
Or any Aussie that plays/ed for the Warriors.

International Rugby league may just fire.

Also, this of PNG in a few years.

Something had to change regarding eligibility.
Its been talked about for a long time. Everyone it seemed could play origin and swap international sides whenever apart from the Kiwis and England.
Regardless of what tier teams were classed as, Samoa, Tonga and Fiji have been competitive for 10 years.
Will Origin lose it's love from the Aussies if there are 10 kiwis playing in it (dont ask me for names)
