Asked how Boyd was doing, Webster said: “He’s very strong. Typical Tanah. He’s thinking for the team before [himself]. He’s in there with the boys, congratulating then, but you could see he’s emotional, upset”.

Team first 😝
It’s noticeable they are saying ‘team first’… TMM said it in his interview. So did Webby and Fish in the presser. Subtle dig at Luke?

Just to put to bed the talk around how Boyd was walking post game. ACL injuries don't mean you cannot walk. You can even walk around looking fine without a limp. In the non-athlete population they are often repaired weeks/months after the actual injury.

The contact-less nature of the injury, tests being done on field and shots of Boyd with his parents in the dressing room all point to this 100% being an ACL.

Mate of mine did his and took years to get it sorted.

Finally after hitting the deck in a pickup basketball game he was like "fuck I better get this sorted" 🤣

Webby and JFH both praising players that are "team-first", "selfless" and "care about the guys in the team".

Subliminal messaging but no way Metcalf gets picked again.

TMM and Jye Linnane (after his NSW cup debut) would be ahead of Metcalf in the pecking order I feel.

We'd have to be down to Hanson and Cleary for Met to get another shot.

He's well and truly lost the locker room.
100%. That was what I took away. Broke trust.

No point keeping him around then

Maybe unpopular opinion but I want TMM not Metcalf. I don't think it is right that a guy who wanted to have a sook walks straight into a top 2 team without wanting to earn that right. Like Boyd, TMM is a team player. He knows he is second fiddle now to whoever (Boyd, mets and CHT) but he's happy to play that role and come and do a job gladly. Probably because TMM is closer to the end, but at this moment we just need a solid game managing 7, not an X factor as the Aussies seem to always emphasize. That is TMM, not Mets.
I dont think its an unpopular opinion at all. Great post.
I for one would be pissed if Mets walks back into the side after that display from TMM.

Could well be. I mean, technically, yes maybe Cameron told them "let's always give it 'team first' when asked about injuries, late replacements, playing out of position etc..." but the fact you noticed Luke's potential replacement, the captain and the coach saying it....

Reminds me of RTS' story: he walked around quite happy, walked up to the place were he got the scans done and analysed. They said "Roge, ya just done ya ACL, bruh!" He was "Nah, I just walked here no problem." They said "Okay, walk towards me and then step off the leg you've injured."
PAIN.

Man they really believe that if it wasn't for Klein and the nrl conspiring and our playing for penalties that they would have won. It's not even just one or two of them, it's nearly everyone.
I was out watching it, so just sat there and watched the replay knowing the score so no emotion.

Couldn't possibly see what they could complain about.

Other than Taine possibly going to the bin for the Mam tackle, there was nothing out of the ordinary. If anything I was surprised Ricki didn't go to the bin for his hip drop on Taine, which to me was far more egregious than AKPs bin. Both their trys also had a dubious pass in them. There were definitely times we should have got more calls, but our numbers were already so high it seemed Klein was hesitant to call them in the 2nd half.

They have been talking team first all season. There was an interview where they said they don’t leave the field until they are all together. They have many things they do as a team. It’s their dna!

Great win by the boys under tough conditions. Poor Tannah, the League Gods are fickle things. Wishing him all the best for his recovery.

Kudos to TMM stepping up & taking control of the game. By rights, the number 7 jersey is his going forward. If anyone had a reason to leave the club it would be TMM given our halves logjam. Great to see him come back from injury & be there when we needed him.

DWZ take a bow. He’s turned things around recently. Hope he maintains that drive & keeps teams guessing.

Origin is almost upon us. Now we’re starting to test our depth. Let’s bank some points & kick it into high gear.
