Blueys Round Review 2025

Brian McClennan Round 6.webp
THIS THREAD IS NOT ABOUT BLUEY McCLENNAN!!!

For those unfamiliar with this thread it was spawned back in 2012 after former coach Brian (Bluey) McClennan famously stated that he should be judged on his coaching after Round 6 and since then its been a tradition at this forum to have a round 6 review of the season thus far.

So how do you see us going to date and into the finals rounds? Where will we finish on the ladder? Is the team exceeding, maintaining or falling short of your preseason predictions? What scorecard out of 10 does the coach get? And the players?

If this were a 1500metre race then the Warriors would be well placed after 6 rounds just sniffing around the leaders in a place to strike. We are legitimately on 8 points which is excellent. The other teams won't be putting an asterisk next to their bye.
The biggest concern is that Fish is now injured. If we just could have gotten through the Storm game unscathed and reloaded for next week it would have been ok. Unfortunately we have lost our co-captain and a huge part of our middle third defence. This next run of games without him could be troublesome. Let's hope it is not a serious injury. Scans being done today most likely.

You sure we aren't the pace maker that drops right out with 400m to go?

After the Storm game (which does blow out the defense number) we have the 7th worst defense and the 12th best attack on average, putting us 11th with the difference. It's obviously only a handful of games so far but does paint a picture. We need to reverse the numbers for attack and defence to have a chance of making the 8 ie average around 23 points for and 19 (preferably less) against for the season
