Anyone here using AI tools more and more in their daily life?

I used to use google many times during the day. But about a couple of months ago started using AI. Now i would say i use AI for the answers in 95+% of those cases where i previously used google.

Tools i use:
OpenAI - Plus - great for everyday usage.
Anthropic - Max - Opus 4 / Claude Code - more for development, mockups/wireframing, EVERYTHING. Claude Opus 4 + Claude Code is AMAZING!

Others:
Gemini - free account
MS CoPilot - only because work blocked eveyrthing else - its the most rubbish out of the lot
Deepseek R1 - havent used it for a while after the initial hype as was constantly getting timeouts.
MidJourney etc - just to play around with. i dont use it much.

Would be interested in how people are changing their everyday patterns to utilise AI, and what they use it for.

I have had some interesting cases where i have used it (one example would need the post to go into the members section).

If i can give some advice, start utilising it more. Get better at writing prompts. Get creative. There is not a single industry which could not be improved with the usage of AI. Make yourself more valuable by getting into the front foot. Just like there are people who can google or people how know how to google (i.e. using search operators to get exactly what they need), the same applies to usage of AI. The more you play the better you get at it.

Also forced to use Copilot and Copilot Studio at work; can confirm It's bloody awful. Thankfully have access to GitHub Copilot which offers secure access to other models.

In my personal life I've used/using ChatGPT and Claude for:
  • Research and authoring pieces of a sports history book I'm writing
  • Used it to plan a full months itinerary around Europe (as well as the NRL vegas trip!)
  • Taking a photo of my house and visualising some renovations I'd like to undertake also providing rough guidance on how I could achieve it myself and in what timeframe
  • Troubleshooting a plethora of vehicle issues I've experienced recently
  • Helping keep my weight training fresh but in the style of John Meadows (RIP!)
  • Creating cocktails when I've got a bunch of random ingredients
  • My wife uses it for baking recipes and shopping lists to minimize food waste (instead of MyFoodBag)
I've found for the nuance that AI prompting can require, I do enjoy the conversational mode of ChatGPT instead of typing. I just need to remind it to be brief and concise with answers else I get bored listening to longwinded explanations!

Nice! Which mode/s did you use for that?
Chagpt 3/4 for every piece of copy. Switched to an SEO GPT wrapper to make it faster. Midjourney for blog images, branding, logos.

Using 4.0 and deep research to do my marketing and SEO legwork. Got rid of the agency and got SEMrush tools myself. Used Chat to teach me SEO and then applied the lessons. Everything from schema, to backlinks, to hitch tags.

I want to start using video generation for ads. AI is a game changer for small businesses

I've been using ChatGPT for some basic app development to tag onto software for work, just had a look at Claude - wow!

I use Chat GPT. I frequently use it to discuss NRL fantasy with. It gives me someone to get my problem or trade written out and then I enjoy reading its reflections on my trades.
I used it as a personal counsellor over Christmas to talk through some trauma and just have someone listen and reflect back its thoughts - I was able to deal with some baggage that was decades old.
I tried it out with work place dilemmas I was in but it was poor at giving advice and thinks every problem can be solved by wordsmithing.
I use it for some business correspondence and emails - where I just need a fancy sounding response and it doesn't really matter what I say. Yes these situations do come up.

ah well that explains it .ichatgpt all along leading you astray with bad advice on this forum.. 😝 it’s a good reminder how dangerous AI can be in promoting propaganda…. End of day it’s just sourcing data from the internet whether that data is right or wrong is hard for it to prove 👀..

Working on IT projects I've been using AI more than Google lately.

In the past trying to solve an issue I'd Google it like most would. Sometimes if it is complex I'd try and get a few articles/forums pointing to the same fix.

Been doing some projects on platforms I'm not as familiar with so it has been easier to use AI to see if specific things are compatible, find best practice or confirm specific details. Work wanted us to use it for information to put into project documentation. I haven't got to that stage yet.

Working in storage and data protection AI is the latest in thing. Similar to Cloud a few years ago. More and more CEO or CTO's asking about it. Probably don't have much of a plan for how they will use it.

I was at a conference a few months ago and AI was one of the talking points. Similar to Cloud each vendor has their own way of pushing their platform.

Yeah, it's storming in but it feels like a number of unknowns in terms of ownership of data, queries, prompts, energy usage, proprietary rights, ip rights of property created, and also how it will learn in the future given it's feeding off of content created mostly by human input up until now

Perfect timing Tajhay. I am trying to lose my fear of AI. I'm over 60 and it's something new that I don't understand so my first instinct was to rubbish it and then I watched some scary end of the world stuff about AI so I tried to ignore it.
But it won't go away will it?
I watched my parents become unable to function in the world as technology moved past them and I can see it happening to me. So time to learn how to use it.

I have been asking on Reddit about AI for designing a sign but I'm a boomer so I'm struggling.
Can anyone recommend an AI site that will help me design a 50s style company sign? I'm trying to teach myself to make an old school hand painted sign written sign and I need to make a template to transfer onto the board I'm using for the sign.
I tried Chatgpt and MS Copilot and the results aren't blowing me away. Possibly because I'm not asking the right questions. What can you guys recommend for a challenged technophobe?
