General 2026 Team

How far is Linnane from first grade calculations really? Hes quite young. Has he played much much NSW Cup? Please realistic timeframes, not blowing smoke like all the Jett/Kali to first grade calls.
Would've debuted this year by all reports.

Probably would've had an extended run given how reliant they were on Fletcher Sharpe and how abysmal their halves rotation was in general

Sharpe and him were considered level as prospect coming through the grades, the injuries have obviously changed that

The best ability an NRL player can have is availability, and Metcalf hasn't survived a single season with us.

If he starts again next year and goes down leaving us with an extended run of TB I'll lose it.
Only positive will be to blood one of the young ones, Boyd is a waste of time. He just is not cut out for the big time. I would only consider Boyd a slight possible keeper if we had a super dynamic 6 like Munster.

Yet he's spent time on both sides of the field and most of his highlights reel plays are down the right side of the field. Go figure.
He scored 13 tries. 5 were when he was on the left (2 from kicks), 7 on the right (3 from kicks) and I think it's fair to attribute his Knights match winner as down the middle of the field.
As a starter, 9 games on the left (7W-2L) for 4 tries (excludes the Knights one as he had switched sides at that point) & 5 starts on the right (2W-3L) for 2 tries (includes 1 at Centre).
In his 8 bench games he was used predominantly on the right edge to spell Niukore but also came on & spent 75 minutes at right Centre in Round 27.
Overall, 3 ball running tries on the left vs 4 on the right.
No Try Assist stats were given to him this season but he was responsible for creating the opportunity for CHT to score against the Dragons. This occured on the left.

He can freakishly catch bombs on either side, run a hard line too but when you stick him on the right edge the ball carrying arm is exposed to the inside defender (Kodi Nikorima of all players exploited this) and if he gets on the outside of this defender his instinct is usually to cut back in rather than utilize the space created.

In our first game vs the Broncos he scored a try that won't be replayed over & over but it was so simple & effective. He got dropped under, then got to the outside of Riki and palmed him off to score. In our second match against the Tigers he used that same right hand fend to beat 2 defenders with about 1.5m of space to work in.

He can score regardless of where he lines up but his fend is a weapon that is largely redundant on the right edge

Love this analysis, bro.

What did his side look like when it came to opposition scoring? (Jeez, I hope so, otherwise my argument is getting a bit shaky)
Here's my calculations, which I'm fairly confident in.
From the Stats Insider site, we conceded 54 tries on the right edge this season. That's one every 37.04 mins if my math is correct. When isolating Berry's minutes on the field it was 36.6 mins per right edge try. When we were short handed after a Berry injury mid match it was 34.2.
In terms of strength of opposition, Berry did benefit by playing top 8 teams in only 22% of his matches.

Do you have tonight's Lotto draw numbers by any chance? :ROFLMAO:

Considering how god awful the Knights were in attack I'm confident saying Linnane would have got a debut this year without the injury.

The main questions are when Metcalf is available and how far the injury set him back.

I am concerned about their speed, probably still faster than everyone else, wild our halves would have 4 ACL ruptures between them 😂

I think there may be a few 'come to jesus' moments in the off season - meaning we'll likely start with quite a different starting line up and depth than we did this season - most questions at the start of this year were around what was going to happen in the halves, and we're still not sorted there yet, plus the ambiguity spread to the rest of the backs - we may see players forcing their way in, imo if Kali wants a spot andis fit we will see him debut early in the season - has the talent and the work ethic from what I've seen at cup level this year -- Centre is a massive problem for us - This Warriors Life pod suggested looking at left field solutions like running with Leka or EIT for a spot - would not be adverse to that with a pre-season to plan and gel - we have great depth in the forwards so it would be a way of getting the best personnel out there - imagine a something like:

TT
Kali
Leka
Pompey
RTS
CHT
LM
Fish
Egan
Barney
Laban
Capewell
Clark

Healey
Demi
EIT
Ford

I'm not too happy with those guys at the moment. Last week I got 4 numbers plus the bonus. So I only missed out on 1 and the powerball.

Got a measley $58. Had the same last year had an impressive screenshot of the majority of the numbers. Got $30 odd that time. Think I was unlucky and hit a weekend it had to be one or someone took the big one.

Such weird behavior here seeing people drop CHT, move RTS, etc etc pre injuries we were top4. Keep our best 7 and best forward on the pitch we look diffferent. Add some speed to the backline in AKP and a genuine game breaker at center in Leka it looks dangerous. Don’t trust Berry and Leiatau to stay fit so entrust Leka with that center jersey and own it. We definitely need a roster clearout but the bulk of that likely happens for 2027

1. CNK
2. AKP
3. Leka
4. Pompey
5. RTS
6. CHT
7. Metcalf
8. JFH
9. Egan
10. Barnett
11. Capewell
12. Niukore
13. Clarke

14. TMM
15. Ford
16. Vaimauga
17. Laban

Rocco Berry hasn’t played on the left but I wonder if that could be a possibility to take away the workload of kick chase and give it to the younger legs of Leiataua? Really like Rocco Berry but keeping him healthy is priority. Pretty harsh calling RTS out and think they’re way off the mark there, but rest of the team isn’t a bad shout. I think like the 2024 season, there’s going to be a lot of expectation and a lot picking the Warriors for success and we need to learn to be the favourites as well as the underdog
