NRLW 2025 Warriors NRLW Discussion

NZWarriors.com

Sucks having to wait.

Bit worried about our halves....sigh....that old chestnut in all things NZRL.

I do not know enough about the Womens game to comment on any of it apart from being a long time fan of Womens RL particularly the She'wees.

Five more sleeps until our NRLW girls kick off. Great to have our own team back on deck at last. And a club owner willing to invest.

Kick off at 1:50pm NZT on Sunday afternoon vs the Roosters. (Hens..?) No doubting that will be a big challenge - but with Ronald Griffiths leading them, we have as good a chance as any to do well across the eleven rounds of their comp. With our men on a bye, they should get the spotlight for their first game at least.

How good to have another Warriors team to follow?

Looking at the pack on paper I suspect we'll struggle to stay with the Roosters once a bit of fatigue comes into the game.

They will miss Maia Hill Moana's presence.
Her hits and hard defence make a difference.
Being an ex Rooster, she probably had a checklist of friends to say hi to.
Matekino Gray off the bench is a good one. Very abrasive.

Solid looking side. Excited to see both wingers, Brake and Takimoana, in action. Maliepo is a highly skilled player at five-eighth.

Got faith in the coach — reckon they’ll surprise a few teams. Baker’s a tackle buster, hard to contain. Stacy’s niece is an absolute machine!

They might take a little time to gel, and I’m sure we’ll see some chopping and changing early on. Really looking forward to their return — can’t wait to see them live in Newcastle with my kids and their mates in three weeks!
