Sooo....we happy we playing the Knights?

How confident is everyone feeling?
TAB already have us as big favourites - $1.50 v $2.45 considering Knights are on a 10 game winning streak and we've been patchy the last 6 weeks.

I still have us as favourites and think we should win if we play well, but jeeze that's crazy money for a good knights team on a roll...

Raiders would have been easier and suited us better.

The Knights style is too similar to ours which can be stifling.

That said, it is better that we play the NRL darlings, the one that stole the feel good narrative from us.

One all this season, with them beating us at home, it would be nice to get Utu.

Sort out the propping rotation, either play Ale or get Curran or Marata playing some minutes in the middle for a bit of impact not Sironen, we lost the middle massively vs the panthers no need to carry Siro aswell as lussick.

Knights have big starting forwards and play with a 3 prop bench, no fucking around this week.

Why... because they had their first outing as a team to experience finals footy. All the guys who've experienced finals were at other clubs but not together as Webby pointed out..
They just need to work on getting better together... trust in Webby really he'll know what's needed

We played like the knights but fell off towards the end of the season. Knights fell off but now play like we played but at the right time. They are in form and we are no guarantee to beat them.

Will be epic, or another loss.

Add SJ. Have Lussick start over Egan or bounce him right out.

Really who we field is not as important as getting it right on the paddock. Get the plan straight. Get plans B and C ready. Stay calm. Stay resilient. Stay focused.

Is there any update on Ponga going down in he last few mins. He was flat out and to me had no idea where he was in those last 2 mins. I was shocked that the trainer was allowed t leave him on and the independent doc had nothing to say. So much for player first care.

So Mt Smart has been confirmed.

So much for the journalists that it will be Eden Park due to capacity, under the NRL and how the finals fall does not matter.

Like I have been saying if we got a week 1 final it would have been Mt Smart. The Panthers played in their traditional home ground, the Sharks played at theirs with a 12k capacity.

The second week onwards was always going to be in question. That is answered now.

No excuses for not winning this weekend with what should be a sold out MSS. Would be a damn travesty if we lost 2 play off games in a row after finishing 4th. Webster better not select a small bench this weekend and he needs to get his selections aright as well(otherwise we may have to bring sack the coach thread.) I think too many people are giving the Knights too much credit but I'm not buying it. Most of their wins have been at home and against lower ranked teams. They won't beat us.

Trust but verify. Right now he's 0-1 on finals games. Need to see some improvement this week.

Montoya's D is baffling lately. He us a massive dude but seems to fall off tackles like he is the size of Volkman. It looks weird and just doesn't make sense

I don't wanna be a downer but we will either lose this week or next. Not our year but still an amazing year which means next year is gonna be fantastic.

Montoya has been a dud recently. RTS to wing??

Anyway what I wanted to say about this game was I was watching a sports show on the ABC over here and the league pundit talked about how rough it was for the winning team of our game to then have to fly all the way back to Aussie to then play a week later and how much of a disadvantage what will be. Like, yeah. What we do every second wee of the competition you knobhead. Shows the lack of any thought for the NZ team. My AFL loving missus even picked up on that as I did. Glad the gam was moved to an appropriate time slot.

This is literally how I make good money on sports bet. Winning streaks always end. Losing streaks always end. Unfortunately I think their streak will end at 11 not 10.

As much as our fans are down rating the Knights, their fans are doing the same about our lot.

The truth is, we are even. A lot of Warrior fans won't like hearing that, but the Knights have earned their stripes in the second half of the season.

The Raiders was their worst game out of their form games, and we saw how to upset them, you bash them and disrupt Ponga.

We also saw through the Raiders attack that taking settler hit ups is a waste of a tackle and that throwing dummies and trying to catch them out is also a wasted tackle.

Their defence is far too good to cave in for readable simple plays.

The edge they have over us is that they can score long range try's and that is not something we can counter punch back with, we do not have long range attack.

The edge we have on them is that we can move sides around through our forwards and then quick shift to Dallin (SJ's inclusion dependent),.

They are better under high balls on attack.

Our forwards have better foot speed and footwork near the line off a crash ball short pass.

SJ and Ponga are the key. Ponga is better at creating space with speed and pass, SJ is better at consistency with his direction and organizing.

Both are good defenders, but SJ edges Ponga.

Dallin Vs Dom Young....comes out pretty even with Dom Young having a long range option thanks to Pongas creativity and speed.

It will be a close game, but we are a decent chance of winning.

As much as our fans are down rating the Knights, their fans are doing the same about our lot.

They have had much better form than us and have beat better opponents. Anyone down rating them is silly.

Losing is not an option this week. For our season to be a success in the post season, we need to have won at least one finals game. We MUST win this game - no excuses.

If we get the job done, we earn the right to be 80 minutes away from a grand final and legitimately call ourselves a top 4 team.

If Melbourne beat the Chooks, then Penrith will beat them in the prelim. The Broncos CAN be beaten in a one off match. Winning this week (and winning well) gives us the confidence we need to take them on.

Beat the Broncos? Then a shot at redemption against the 'Up the Pahs' mob - third time is a charm, right?

Anyway. 1st job. We simply CANNOT lose at home. Start there. Let's knock out the Knights who have done well to make it this far. Time to extinguish their flame.
