General 2009-2011 NZ Warriors Jerseys and Merchandise

2009 home jersey 1.jpg

For the 2009 season the Warriors would come full circle and reunite with our original supplier Canterbury Clothing Company (CCC). Their opening offering would be an off the shelf blank template that CCC used on many other oval ball sports teams such as the Australian, Irish and Scottish International rugby union teams.

The use of an oil based tag meant that if it went unwashed the label would slowly degrade making it soft and sticky.

Players jerseys featured an embroidered Sonny Fai signature and his Warrior player number #138 after his disappearance and presumed drowning during the preseason.

Players jerseys were for the first time made of completely different fabric to the standard replicas and the logos were a special heat transfer instead of the sublimated logos on replicas.

Because of the fabric and heat transfers most match worn are in poor condition unless they haven't been used much.

Both the home and away jerseys even as player issues are exceedingly rare.

2009 heritage jersey 1.jpg

The Warriors celebrated the Auckland Rugby League centennial by releasing this Auckland inspired heritage jersey.

The use of an oil based tag meant that if it went unwashed the label would slowly degrade making it soft and sticky.

Players jerseys featured an embroidered Sonny Fai signature and his Warrior player number #138 after his disappearance and presumed drowning during the preseason.

Unlike the home and away jerseys from this season the heritage was made with the exact same material as the retail replica with the exception of a square box on the back to better highlight the number. Also unlike the other two jerseys this jersey isnt as rare to get as several boxes were sold at the end of year CCC sale.

2009 NZ Warriors Training Jersey Black

2009 training jersey black 1.jpg
Released as a training jersey but worn in all 3 of the Warriors trial games against the Melbourne Storm at Waikato Stadium, North Queensland Cowboys at North Harbour Stadium and the Gold Coast Titans at Oakes Oval.

The jersey was then worn throughout the 2009 season during training sessions.

This jersey was sold as a general release replica and is fairly common on secondary markets.

Player issue or match worn jerseys are rare.

2009 NZ Warriors Training Jersey Grey

2009 Training Jersey Grey 1.jpg
Made as the opposite jersey to the black version for opposed training sessions. This jersey was never worn during a match and was not released for general public sale. The only versions out there belonged to the club and are fairly rare as a result.

2009 NZ Warriors U20 Home Jersey

2009 U20 Home jersey 1.jpg

The U20s jerseys used the exact same jerseys as the top side bar a few changes to badges and sponsors. The U20s used their own Toyota Cup badge on the right breast, different sleeve sponsor in Allied Workforce and a different lower back sponsor in Samsung.

The same breathable fabric and heat pressed logos were used that was different to the replica jerseys although the U20s jerseys were never made for general release and only existed as team issue jerseys. Because of the nature of the heat pressed logos any excessively worn jerseys will have obvious fading and cracking.

As with most player issue or match worn jerseys these ones are not very common and hard to come by.

2009 NZ Warriors U20 Away Jersey

Besides the obvious colour differences the home jersey differed to the home jersey with sleeve sponsor having to be Toyota Cup when playing in Australia.

2009 NZ Warriors U20 Training Jersey

2009 U20 training jersey 1.jpg

Another jersey that was exactly like its NRL cousin but with different sponsors for the U20 comp.

These jerseys were first worn by the team during their preseason warm up trials often as curtain raisers for the NRL side. After that they were worn for trainings and clinics as far as 2013 when they were seen worn during a clinic run by the Warriors in Samoa.

The only examples were team issued jerseys so they are not too common and hard to come by...

2010 home jersey 1.jpg

Exactly the same jerseys as the 2009 season with one small exception. The Lion Red Beer sleeve sponsor was replaced with Lion Red League. Everything else was the same.

The team issued jerseys no longer had different fabric and heat pressed logos. They were the same as the replica jerseys with a number on the back.

2010 heritage jersey 1.jpg

The Warriors would look to the 2006 Awen Guttenbeil Testimonial jersey for their inspiration for the 2010 heritage jersey. They would again consult original artist Moko Inc.

They were the same as the replica jerseys but with a number on the back.

2010 NZ Warriors Anniversary Jersey

2010 anniversary jersey 1.jpg

For the clubs 15th anniversary the Warriors released a jersey inspired by the original 1995 home jersey.

The team issued jerseys were the same as the replica jerseys but with a number on the back.

2010 NZ Warriors Training Jersey

2010 training jersey 1.jpg

The 2010 training jersey was worn during all 3 preseason trials games against the Sydney Roosters in Rotorua, North Queensland Cowboys at Barlow Park and Manly-Warringah Sea Eagles at North Harbour Stadium.

The team issued jerseys were the same as the replica jerseys but with a number on the back.

2010 NZ Warriors U20 Home Jersey

2010 U20 Home jersey 1.jpg

The 2010 U20 jersey was exactly the same as the previous season but used a different fabric and the logos were all sublimated as opposed to heat pressed. This can make the jerseys hard to distinguish between.

This jersey was team issued only.

The away jersey was worn during the teams Grand Final win over the South Sydney Rabbitohs. Most match worn examples will have the official NRL Grand Final badge on them.

2010 NZ Warriors U20 Training Jersey

2010 U20 training jersey 2.jpg

There is very little information on this jersey other than that it was worn during the teams trial games during preseason. The only confirmed game is the trial in Rotorua as the curtain raiser for the NRL teams trial against the Sydney Roosters.

The jersey was then worn extensively by the team during trainings, open trials and clinics.

2011 NZ Warriors Home Jersey

2011 home jersey 1.jpg

Same jersey template as the previous two seasons. One small tweak and sponsor change to make the 2011 different to the 2010. The CCC logo on the chest area had the wording canterbury added below the CCC. SKYCITY also replaced Loadlift as the lower back sponsor.

2011 NZ Warriors Heritage Jersey

2011 heritage jersey 1.jpg

For the Warriors 2011 heritage jersey the club would completely break the mould and instead of featuring a jersey from the clubs past they decided to reflect the heritage of the club with a NZ flag inspired jersey.
