True, every case is different but I wonder how many of those front up to Immigration and say, Hey I just over ran my visa can you help me?
In my experience with labour from overseas, the requirements for a work visa are stringent and any deviation to the conditions is taken very seriously.
I wonder though, how many of those numbers came in on tourist visas and never left

I hope the measures aren’t too overbearing because around 20,000 out of around 5.3-5.4 million population doesn’t warrant anything too over the top in my view. Touted home visits I’m not sure about, I’d hate to see people dragged off in front of their kids or any traumatic scenes like that
