Came down from SE Asia and entered the gene pool at some early stage?
Pretty narrow window then to have interbred at a rate not seen elsewhere, and then still migrated.

More likely multiple subcultural groups existing on the subcontinent, with various ones going extinct / hunted out. Mainland survivors evolved together / tassies separately.

It's all quite fascinating, but what are the implications of the conversation exactly?

Cannabalism and female infanticide were well documented in NZ.

This Horrid Practice by Paul Moon and Taua by Angela Ballara are two good publications which cover the subject.

As for Genocide, despite what old mate Waititi may say, the only Genocide ever recorded down this end of the world was carried out by Nagti Tama and Ngati Mutunga on the Chatham Islands natives in 1835.

Michael King's book Moriori A People Discovered is worth a read

Cannibalism's still practiced by the world elite if you believe some of the more bizarre emails in the Epstein files. Do you like jerky Rick?

Frank really wants to disprove the origin theory . Then he can het on his high horse and laugh whilst quickly googling for evidence to back up his racist beliefs

Can you show me where he has ever denied that?
Sorry, should have clarified. He accused the colonials or Crown (in parliament) of Systematic Genocide and Extermination.

Rhetoric for sure

It's a word that seems to be bandied about a lot today without the users actually understanding what it means.

The Moriori were subjected to intentional Genocide. 900 Invaders, 300 killings of a non violent people and the rest enslaved.

Worst part was they were carried over in two separate waves on the Lord Rodney for a few pigs. flax and potatoes.

Haha, matter of fact it's not too bad, the beef version that is, especially when you're in the middle of nowhere and the supply truck has done a bearing.
Certainly prefer a Braai though and those Antelope steaks.

Jayses, the māori did to the Moriori what the fecken English did to the Irish. Both as bad as each other.

Acknowledging Moriori genocide doesn’t mean other historical claims can’t be talked about also. Just need to stick to evidence rather than rhetoric
