Speaking of Canada, the MAID controversy surely must be the final nail in the "slippery slope isn't real" dialogue. Killing off people with mild depression to save medical costs is fucking evil

This sounds like classic Frank disinformation bullshitSpeaking of Canada, the MAID controversy surely must be the final nail in the "slippery slope isn't real" dialogue. Killing off people with mild depression to save medical costs is fucking evil
There were isolated cases of Canadian soldiers with PTSD being offered it. At the moment, one mental illness (no matter how serious) doesn't make a patient eligible for MAID.This sounds like classic Frank disinformation bullshit
Thanks Mike, that at least provides some context. There were isolated cases of soldiers with PTSD being offered it. As the moment, one mental illness (no matter how serious) does make a patient eligible for MAID.
The concern, with some of those who proscribe to "slippery slope" is what will happen next year when mental illnesses can be taken into consideration.
To begin with, disabilities weren't taken into consideration in Canada... now they are.
It's a question of how far are we prepared to let the politicians change the rules here? ACT are wanting the eligibility rules to be reconsidered here too.... another reason I'd never support them.
Memes aside I think there’s a case for mercy deaths for chronic incurable depression and PTSD, if they're going to do it themselves anyway. Just to save money is evil though, is there evidence of that?
Imagine being that much of a dick that you need to be you. Once again you're a right wing hotbed of disinformationImagine bragging that you keep you head in the sand.
This is a Canadian newspaper, discussing how much money it could save them.Memes aside I think there’s a case for mercy deaths for chronic incurable depression and PTSD, if they're going to do it themselves anyway. Just to save money is evil though, is there evidence of that?
But as the guy said that's not necessarily advocating MAD to save money, it's just budgeting the cost of the procedure. This is a Canadian newspaper, discussing how much money it could save them.
Fixed it for youBut as Goebbels said, we aren’t necessarily advocating for camps to save money, we are just budgeting the cost of the procedure.
Godwin's CanadiansFixed it for you
Fox News take. Not sure a one-eyed head injury guy with seasonal depression is "just a little sad", regardless of what his parents say, who are we to judge his suffering?Dude - I get a little sad in the winter
Canada - Have you considered letting us kill you?
Are right wing Christians conflicted over the morality of it? Maybe they're more liberal than their counterparts in the states. The Canadian right wing support the act itself and the sitting government has delayed the expansion of the act to address concerns. Just more right wing culture wars from the same people who were happy to sacrifice grandma during Covid.
Is that similar toifwhen we ever lose the Bledisloe again?
