Provide a bit more context into the head of fbi shutting down an investigation with all the hallmarks of a murder and a landslide that occurred sadly taking lives. I understand māori are to blame? Do you know much of what he’s alluding to and is that correct? I must admit that having interactions with the poster, I can understand j_p’s response

Not just your opinion either, there is a huge body of science around this.

The problem in the discourse I read from this conversation is the definition of intelligence and the context.

So I agree with both of you, Pink and yourself, you are both right.

Lets introduce the word wisdom as the apex which emotional intelligence is a key building block. It is the opposite of the other forms of intelligence

Intelligence can be cunning and shrewdness, street smarts requires a healthy dose of both - and it involves the ability to process a lot complex information e.g people reading and applying that information to achieve goals...we are talking about analysis really.

And of course you can be book smart and a Psychopath... and very high functioning successful individuals that lack the emotional component.

Being really book smart and getting to the office of President while having no connection socially to others, no empathy etc, works....well it must because there are endless examples of people who fit that criteria and run whole countries efficiently.

But lets then take the lot of the average person and their quality of life, is this type of leader likely to understand the wants, desires, dreams, and need for connection that the average person understands their life by?

Does these power seeking individuals who endlessly win elections while compulsively lying to the masses, improve the social fabric of their societies?

Are you happy? Does your life bring you peace? Is your family thriving? Do you feel like you belong?

Does life make sense to you?

Do you feel safe with the leadership of the people who have been running the world?

If none of these are true, then what is the point of these people???? Rhetorical.

For some of us, life is about more than making the trains run on time.

Wisdom I think is the missing piece. May I humbly offer that as the state which bridges this discussion? the presence of Wisdom or lack thereof is intuitively the difference between these cunning unfeeling highly successful people that have degrees and become world leaders - only to demonstrate they lack wisdom through their destructive self serving actions which in the short and long term negatively impact on us all.

One pet peeve of mine since the interweb came along is the use of quotes from famous people, I especially hate the way the yanks throw Twain or bloody Thomas Jefferson at you every minute....the reason it gets on my tits is that I don't need fortune cookie content....I want to know what you think.....I want to believe you are capable of original thought.....but here goes....part of the reason I believe Albert Einstein and some others are the smartest people I've ever encountered is that ole Albert had lots to say about the human condition that was relatable.

And he also had a mean sense of humor.

The guy was wisdom personified.
