I agree. The world needs to see reality.
Two images that changed the world were the Shooting of a Viet Cong officer live on TV, that was worse, he was shot in the head.
And the little girl running while missing skin from Napalm burns.
The world was forced to see for the first time ever, War in full uncensored horror and it was important that it was seen.
As for people warning about mental health effects. Yes that is true, I did worry when my son told me the video made him feel light headed for a minute.
I guess I believe in peoples right to look and their right to suffer the consequences, provided they are adults.
I did see this video, purely because I wanted to see what facebook allows people to see now days and I honestly assumed what I would find would be a lot less graphic.
By the same token I refused to watch the Mosque shootings because I knew it would just do me harm.

I was wondering about this, even killing your first animal can be difficult, killing a person like that must be a total mind fuck. Fr the shot isnβt that βhardβ (hitting the neck deliberately is) but the adrenaline dump before and after? Almost debilitating. Amateurs leave body fluids at the scene from nervous incontinence.
Trying to evacuate under that stress with incriminating evidence still on your person? Crazy balls even if you are trained.

So they released the initial persons of interest who turned out to be innocent yet released their names, which has resulted in them receiving death threats.

I thought the Governor of UTAH sounded like a vigilante with his rhetoric. Mentioning that UTAH is a death penalty state. The hate from these conservatives is repulsive.

Their person of interest they say is possibly of College age.
As for the mental state of the gunman, it may well turn out to just be a case of someone personality disordered (psychopaths don't find pulling triggers stressful, they are not mentally ill as such, they are born that way).
Or it could be just plain old fashioned hate. It could be lots of things, like someone who is sick to death of living in fear of mass shootings, someone who lost a friend...etc etc...
They are unlikely to be grossly psychotic, given the degree of planning and organization.

This guy was a great proponent of freedom of speech and I respect that.
But with freedoms of expression comes responsibility and sometimes consequences. This guy embarrassed people and humiliated them as part of his social media platform. Used his superior intellect and years of practice to intellectually βshoot people downβ and posted it for views. Not a deliberate attempt to embarrass people but definitely a by product when debating βintelligentβ college student where their public defeat was a byproduct.
I can see how it could easily have been one of those humiliated individualsβ¦ in a perfect world, everyone moves on, but there are human emotions and feelingsβ¦
But what I struggle with, is freedom of speech is acceptable but canβt extend it to physical violence. However when thereβs a power or intellectual imbalance then itβs not a fair argument is it? Mental harm can be worse than physical harm (not shooting someone obviously!) How do we allow freedom of speech vs emotional harm?
I think the rise in people taking issues into their own hands through violence, Wellington protests, Tom Phillips, sovereign citizens, voting for Trump, shooting at Trump, etc is the power imbalance and inability of everyday people to have a fair influence over their own lives. The power imbalance and smart people creating a system that traps people.
Just my random thoughts for the day.

There's zero justification for his appalling murder.
At the same time, people are allowed to discuss the victims actions/beliefs during his life, this is par for the course when public figures are killed.
It's a long reach to correlate the discussion of a person's actions/beliefs as somehow being an approval for their murder.

If people want to exercise their freedom of speech to celebrate how someone was killed (for using their freedom of speech) is not only disgusting, it's hypocritical
It also means they'd have no qualms celebrating anyone else's death that had different views to their own
