India has the capacity to offset the reliance on China. For all the drawbacks of India, it’s still a former commonwealth country that politically has far less issues than China, but with a huge increasingly affluent population that we can build trade with.
Youre dreaming mate. Go talk to regular Canadians about the topic. Its at boiling point over there

India is one market where NZ will be hopeful of getting something sorted that would contribute to a descaling of NZ and China economically but who knows what’s in the fine print of any free trade deal?
Why would we want to do that, we'd likely end up paying more for lesser quality imports or exporting less dairy and beef and thus decreasing GDP??

I’m not saying that’s what I think we should do but I think it’s obvious that NZ sees potential when Winston Peters was in recent times speaking about NZ’s ties to India goes deeper than economically, but also extends to defence and security. I think it’s going to grow increasingly difficult for NZ to have deep ties to China in trade and have America happy for that with such a petulant president and our increasing trade ties to America in recent years now second largest to NZ. Rightly so NZ raised alarm about Chinese warships in the Pacific, but also were quiet about being in contested waters ourselves. It looks to me like we’re strengthening ties to America, all just my view

It's funny you say, right now DT is attempting to make tariffs his call and bypass Congress while weaponizing tariffs as has been done with sanctions.

The G7 are really shit scared of BRICS and keep taking actions that brought the world the BRICS alternative instead of finding a way to work alongside. The days of western supremacy are numbered if not already gone. Even if they bring us to WW3..

So, I believe we'll keep our deep trade ties with China but we really should stop attending NATO summits!!

Scandinavia seems to be a region doing things right and Europe too in many places values it’s democracy so i see value in nato for the countries that are in there. I see value in any pact between countries for ourselves and keeping close ties to China, I’m just not sure it’s going to be possible. I agree with you largely though

I don't think so, maybe as sovereign nations but the EU has manipulated it's way into leadership and are now looking to absorb NATO as its military.

Basically since WW2 American influence has ultimately turned most of Europe into vassal states and the EU should have been a competitor to the USA and ASEAN but were turned out by the illegal war against Serbia, the Bosnian war..

Epstein files could turn into a problem for trump
Limited Hangout, tell em the truth about one thing and they're more likely to believe your lies about everything else.

Just in from the CIA on Morning Joe, looks like the Sicilian mafia had Joe Kennedy's boys whacked. It gets more like Gangs of NY every day.
