Pretty sure the wages were as crap prior to 2018 and banning offshore oil and gas exploration hasn’t had a bearing on this person’s decision to leave. All reports seem to point back to similar reasons from others that have left. What I’d like to see is when these people decide that NZ has nothing to offer them anymore and the grass is greener that they stay put when things like covid occur rather than come back and put stress on our infrastructure etc
