All this will change when enough Americans wake up to the reality of inflation or that the things they bought previously are no longer available. All for what? So a life long bully can play his games on a bigger stage than before is why.

One last thing. Applying tariffs to African countries who have f**k all and where previous American administrations had brought in policies to help the poor bastards out of poverty through manufacturing clothing is vindictiveness that is off the scale.

The politicians who are supporting Trump and metaphorically sucking him off should be run out of town as well.

One last, last thing. The reason why American car sales are low isn’t because of the tariffs he claims, it’s because design, build quality and reliability is light years behind Japanese, Korean and European cars.

I sort of like the idea of countries or companies or whatever not being able to like go to Bangladesh and pay someone fuckall to make clothes that are then sold at enormous markups to us. But I guess a universal wage is just ridiculous in a world with too many people?

The reality is these countries will still make the items, they will be light years cheaper than American manufacturing and the American public will just pay more for the same imported things.

The only things this will help are marginal things America can make within 30% of Asian manufacturers. For most low cost items, American manufacturing would be 100% the cost.

Things will still need to be bought, American won’t be able to produce them competitively and Americans will have to pay more. No losers except the US consumer.

Imagine if Trump used the massive tax raised to pay for a public health system.

Just thinking about it, this could be playing a trump (pun intended) card. Free healthcare that the other countries paid for (trump marketing thinking), just like Mexico paying for the wall.

Would cement him as a legendary president with a huge legacy, potentially give the people a massive life changing benefit (that the don’t realise how it’s funded and seemingly free) and confound and confuse the democrat haters. Boss play!

Such a smart move… no way he would ever think of it unfortunately. But that would be how he becomes one of the most famous presidents ever!

His wealth is all factored publicly, so there’d be nowhere to hide if changes did occur. Like David Seymour labelling the likes as grandstanders over here with the same belief, I don’t follow the mentality to treat them with such contempt. Doesn’t seem like he’s trying to shirk it

Charity for retired donkeys haha. I thought he made some good points, seems fairly genuine, there's always a cynic looking for some commie agenda. I don't know if he's a naive socialist who doesn't understand things, he's a musician after all.
Always liked his early 70s comedy albums and what he did for krautrock.

Quite an eccentric chap. Had some out there stuff with King Crimson’s Robert Fripp and seems to surround himself with such characters working with David Byrne too. Don’t think it finished on good terms at Roxy Music though?
