The eye rolls are for you. Nothing to do with whether I think IDF or any one else in that particular conflict is good or bad.

It's often said that there are no winners in war. I recall a story my grand father told about meeting and having dinner with a German man a few years after the second world war. Both of them had fought and killed in it. And his enduring memory of sharing a meal and talking to each other was that he was actually not to dissimilar to himself and that if they had met on the battlefield that they each wouldn't have hesitated to try and kill each other, yet here they were sharing a meal and a conversation.

Now that may or may not have any relevance to @Bay39er 's experience. Two couples meeting from different countries and backgrounds, sharing a meal, talking and listening to each other, understanding each other is what should be happening more in my opinion. Seems like you think he should have just berated him, or worse? I certainly don't think he deserved the type of responses you gave him.

But that's just me.

Not expecting him to berate the couple, a minor bit of push back would have been nice. You know - against one of the worst atrocities of our time. Not cup their balls, whilst gobbling up the talking points.
