Politics 🤡 Donald Trump

Dont care what Donald wants to call Gulf of Mexico within USA, but i find it quite tasteless to rename the highest peak in North America, Mount Denali in Alaska to Mount McKinley who was the 25th president. The indigenous people who inhabited the area for centuries referred it to Mt Denali before a gold prospector called it Mt McKinley after the then presidential candidate. Obama had renamed it back to Denali but Donald sure likes to go back in time to when it suits him and his agenda.
They dont even agree on a single name Dghelay Ka’a being another. Plus your thesis seems to be if you remove all traces of a civilization, then their history ceases to matter. Pretty dangerous. I prefer to the victor, goes the naming rights.

Alaskans have never supported it being called Mckinley. William Mckinley never even saw the Mount in person. He actually never even visited Alaska. He was from Ohio...

The original mistake, historians say, is that no one bothered to ask Alaska's Native Americans what the mountain should be named when the area around it became a national park in 1917. That's when the McKinley title became official, and began appearing on government maps.

Ever since, Alaska's indigenous people have seen the move as one of many displays of disrespect. Non-Native-American Alaskans, who also call the mountain Denali, agree.

After Alaska became a state in 1959, local leaders began pushing to restore the original name. But they were blocked by Republicans from Ohio, who used bureaucratic maneuvers to prevent a change in the law.

All part of the fake culture war pushed by the right, so called anti woke. Anti woke just means you don't want to be held to account for being an asshole

Would be a bit rude to not invite him considering he helped fund the campaign and geared his social media platform to assist the outcome.
Should really have got Kamala on stage. Her not offering anything much basically handed the platform to trump

Her response when asked what she would have changed from Biden’s time: “not a thing comes to mind”

What makes you think the Australians aren't being manipulated as well, just towards the right than towards the left?
All the media manipulate in one way or another.
Be good just to have the news and facts without ‘opinion’ and an angle on everything.

Anyway, people don’t trust our media and are turning to other methods of getting their news anyway.

There’s no such thing as “Alaskans” it’s a group of tribes as covered in the link I posted.

As I said, to the victor goes the naming rights.
