Social πŸ“Ί TV

I enjoyed Barry, not in a best-show-ever kind of way, but if you weren't into it then probably no point continuing.

And I'd say I was "OK" with White Lotus πŸ˜… not too fussed about the inevitable sex & romance with my crime thrillers, but will take it hah!
Speaking of sexy shows with sex that sexes, also watched S1 of Euphoria, partly for the b00bies and partly cos it's just one of those shows you just hear mentioned all the time - I was never a party guy at highschool (not to mention I grew up pre-cellphones/social media) and never been a drug guy really so was very hard to identify with anyone in this show! πŸ˜… Again, was "OK" but not sure I'll bother with the other seasons.

But yeah pretty much all of the shows on my Neon watchlist are HBO ones, if that changes then not liking to carry on with Neon subscription!
As well as the aforementioned, got a few of the OG HBO Classics on the watchlist, including Sopranos, The Wire & Band of Brothers, which I only ever caught in passing at best when they happened to be on TV, but want to watch from the start.
Did watch ep1 of The Wire the other day, didn't really pull me in, but have heard it raved about from friends and online alike so will stick with it and see how it rolls on.

Euphoria is an odd one where you’re not sure why you keep watching it but you somehow do, felt similar with white lotus.
The wire is a show I β€œwant to like” and feel I β€œshould” like but I’ve tried to start it a few times and never gotten far.
Sopranos is probably my all time HBO favourite and have watched it through numerous times

Anyone watching DTF St Louis?
Originally put off by the title I gave it a go based on the cast and after a bit of a weird start got hooked, like how it completely flips how you see the characters most episodes and leaves you with a cliffhanger

The fact it's called DTF has put me off watching - like I mentioned above, I'm not all that fussed with the 'sexy sex that sexes' shows :ROFLMAO:

I've moved onto a Dexter kick the last month or so, rewatching from the start, now up to S3 where Jimmy Smits character turns up - last time I watched was about 10 years ago up to the John Lithgow season. Gonna make my way through all 8 OG seasons, then check out the more recent ones that have since been released.
I read the books before I ever watched the show, but it's been long enough that I barely remember anything about the story and characters (has been a few 'oh yeah that's right' moments so far though hah, including "SURPRISE MUTHAF*CKA!" :ROFLMAO: ).

It’s surprisingly more of a black comedy β€˜whodunnit’ mystery with not too much in the way of sex despite the title.

Dexter original run did kinda peak at season 4 (hard to top Lithgows Trinity killer) although the last 4 seasons have their moments and does introduce a couple interesting characters and concepts- they’re not as bad as some like to claim although quality does dip a bit.
The newer seasons are actually really good really enjoyed New Blood and resurrection (it’s essentially S9/S10) and the best stuff since s4 with new settings etc.
The prequel took a bit to get used to with the younger versions being a bit jarring at times- although they got Batista and Masuka pretty close

I did the Dexter binge over the summer. I never watched it at the time, and was put off by people telling me not to because of the ending. I actually didn't think the premise for the ending could have gone any other way, and I thought his dumping of the last body in the ocean was a pretty apt summation of how depraved he was. Great show, and I agree with @Matiunz the Trinity Killer and Dexter's sexy wife were the peak. I quite liked the first sequel and loved the latest one.

@CWC put an Invincible meme in one of the other chats, which made me wonder if anyone watches, and is up to date with season 4.

One of my favourite shows actually, lots of thoughtfulness in between some of the most graphic, horrendous violence that can be drawn 🀣.

Another one thats just come back on for the 5th and final season is The Boys - another one of my favorites and love that the 2 main stars are kiwi blokes.

Anthony Star AKA Homelander....man that dude has psychopath down solid, im convinced hes barely acting and thats just him....an absolute nutter of a man
