Big Doors fan and Kilmer’s portrayal of Jim Morrison was excellent. Went deep into the role and I couldn’t see anyone else doing it justice. Really went out there in the roles he was willing to take on, his portrayal of porn star John Holmes was another that drew praise. Sort of reminds me of Marlon Brando with the eccentric side to him and the tragic later years of their lives

Going to a Nightmare on Elm St marathon next month for the first 7 films, starting at 8.30pm and finishing up with New Nightmare by around 9.35am.

I'm going with my horror-loving mate whose stag do in GC we'll be at on the weekend prior, so managing to stay awake going to be all the more challenging recovering from that, let alone the fact we are in our 40s so staying up beyond midnight is a hell of a feat hah!

Should be fun though, wonder if the staff will try pulling any shenanigans on people that do nod off during proceedings

Never understood why or how people enjoy horror flicks… can’t be good for the soul!

Yeah I love my family but as the youngest no one cared when I was watching horrors and scary movies when I was kid with them, they should’ve told me to beat it, watching the Shining, Friday the 13th movies etc.

One really haunted me and it wasn’t even a horror.
That movie Witness when Danny Glover slits the blokes throat in the Toilets.
I seriously couldn’t use a public toilet for bloody years after that 😂

I remember watching evil dead 2 as a 10 year old at a friends sleep over …. never been more traumatised in my life…. now I just watch it and laugh… 🤷🏻‍♂️

Good morning everybody! 😴

Was pretty fun even if I was losing focus 2/3rds of the way through the last few films 😅

Nice touch was having intro vids by some of the cast and crew to open a few of the films, including Nancy, bug girl, wizard boy, and couple of behind the scenes makeup/fx guys.

Glad to have done the experience, but now figuring out when to sleep as kinda awake again now and hoping not to sleep through our mighty victory over the Raiders tonight 😅

I also preferred the first part - the action in the second part is still great, but the overly convoluted plot with Gabriel and the AI Entity and the overly melodramatic seriousness of the OMG HIGH STAKES EVERYBODY was almost comical at times, best just to turn the brain off and enjoy the experience as it's happening than try too hard to connect all the things together 😅

I did appreciate the callback to the first movie (which I still absolutely love having first seen it as a teen), Hayley Attwell is very rwwwaarrr, but Emmanuelle Beart from the original will always be the most luscious MI girl to me 😍

If they do decide to continue on with the MI franchise, I hope they get back to fun spy sh!t in more focused situations like the original, rather than world-ending scenarios which is just a bit too over the top for me 😅
