Auckland’s Saturday morning institution the Otara Market provided the ideal backdrop to unveil the One New Zealand Warriors’ stunning 2025 Pasifika jersey.

The vibrant Dynasty design couldn’t help but turn heads as models Dallin Watene-Zelezniak, Luke Metcalf and Demitric Vaimauga wandered about mingling with market goers.

The Pasifika '25 range went out on general retail release on Friday.

“The jersey is about honouring the strong Pasifika legacy of the Warriors,” said designer Nathan Inivale.

“I started with the Warriors’ colour trinity of blue, red and green taking them on a journey that reflects the point of the jersey.

“I faded them to represent looking to the past. You know, how nice vintage stuff looks when the colour is faded a bit, so just playing on that effect. It represents the passage of time looking into our legacy.

“Then I brightened or pastelised the colours to represent this new life and vigour in especially young Pasifika people taking interest in their culture and heritage. We have a colourful aesthetic in our culture, so this colour treatment better reflects that.

“The main design feature shows various patterns from different nations as strands in a weave. Weaving is universal to Pasifika and has a lot of strong thematic overlays.

“Here it represents the honouring of all past Pasifika players under one family in the Warriors. Just under the chevron there are strands yet to be folded in and this represents the future Pasifika players. We are not just honouring the past but the current and future Pasifika legacy and input into the club.”

The jersey is part of the 2025 Pasifika range which also includes Pasifika gym shorts and a Pasifika polo shirt.
