Pick Your Team Gold Coast Titans v NZ Warriors - [Round 7, 2026]

I feel that if we were to go all the way and win the comp it's more likely to be with Metcalf back to his best
Sure Boyd has been great but we need some x factor to go all the way
Unfortunately I have a feeling that we will never see Mets back to his best. Loss of speed is the biggest cause for concern
Hope like hell I'm wrong

It's about whether to continue with current form until injuries, form dip or they get worked out, OR a direct swap that will reproduce 2 months of clunkiness (R9 vs Cowboys last year was when Luke went beast mode organizing for 40min), and hope he stays on the field, rediscover his form, and the team go up another level for Aug/Sept.

I personally think we can win it with the current lot, the way CHT is owning that 6 jersey, and a bit of Luke to back up or being icing on the cake at the end of the season.

But maybe Team Webby want to invest 4-8 games to see if it pays off. If that's the case, I'll go to the pharmacy to get some heart medications ready

Tannah is still not showing up on the casualty ward. TSS is there as a hamstring concern, so I'm still not convinced this isn't just a case of mistaken identity by the Aussie journos.

8 of these players would easily be in our TLT each week.

Looking at this makes me even more confident that we have the top 30 depth to potentially go deep into the finals this year.

To be fair, it means that a few players could potentially be fresher and if it does pay off, he'll look like a genius.

Remember folks: if it's stupid and if works, it ain't stupid.

I think we win with these guys in the form they are in.

I think its silly not to say that our teams in theory is better with metcalf which at the moment is all we can really talk about. But at the moment metcalf would have to earn the jersey through cup and hope that tannah and cht fall apart.

Long story short is metcalf has the highest ceiling but the club can’t just put him back in like the last 2 rounds

I think people need to stop and actually not forget what Metcalf did last season. Now acting like we shouldn’t pick him at all is crazy. He’s still our future halfback at the club. When he’s fit and firing he’s a gun. You can’t judge someone of two games being back from injury. Just my opinion. But yes right now Boyd and CHT are our best combination. Anyways don’t expect a lot of changes this afternoon

Apologies for who posted it earlier as ive forgot, but I think LM and his form at 7 last year is a wee bit overlooked as were winning.

Im a big LM fan, but we have to be reasonable and remember how fucking clunky our attack was for much of the year when he was 7. He grew into the role, but he was still learning.
  • His general kicking, while he improved, is not as good as Tanah has been this year.
  • His try assists are significantly down from what Boyd has done in 2026 (LM 9 try assist in 15 games, Boyd 9 in 6 games).
  • Metcalf and Boyd currently have the same average for tries and forced drop outs (0.5 pg) despite this being Metcalfs strength
  • Team wise, much better cohesion with Tanah atm - both defence and attack have been better than the same time last year.

For me, Boyd is an out and out 7, and under Webby has tweaked his game which has brought wonders.
LM has a higher ceiling for sure, however has struggled to get there due to injuries.

If were being honest, Boyds game is tailor made for Webbys game plan, and I think if he had Rocco back with that kick chase I think wed be pinning teams back even further and causing more stress for teams.

We already have evidence of Webby trying to make it work and put LM at 6, and us struggling. Imo I dont think we risk it again. The point is to win games right...why play around with that when were winning games, and winning bloody well.

No brainer for me, stick with Boyd!

Forward domination is a key factor in any halves performance
Round 1 ,2 we had that dominance and not so much Round 3
Round 4 and 5 we were dominated .
Last week we trampled the Storm
Still have doubts about Metcalf getting back to his best which would be disappointing. Hope I'm wrong
