Ferries would have been finished but the terminals and wharves weren’t scheduled to be finished for a few more years….We would have had the ferries by now.

Mmmmm......... the iRex ferries were to large for the existing terminals.... that's why they needed new ones.... there is no interim berthing which would have suited the size of them.
Tbf the current ferries have always had berthing issues due to the lsndside infrastructure not being fit for purpose
