Pick Your Team Gold Coast Titans v NZ Warriors - [Round 7, 2026]

I mean I kind of get it. They also never brought up RTS for his amazing job that game. And only focused on CHT, Vaimauga and Egan.

But it's already a very rushed show with a tiny amount of time given. And they had about 70 seconds to answer it.

This feels like splitting hairs. And not at all degrading the team to comfort one guys ego. In the same way focusing on those 3 players for the game does not degrade Ford, RTS, Boyd or DWZ.

lol you're not getting it and using a strawman here
They did bring up Boyd and mentioned nothing of his contribution while gloating over his competition lol in a question directly addressing him and Luke
A better analogy would be you posting 4 incredible analysis and scoops in a row, while Wrighty posts 2 average analysis and one of them he failed to finish, and I post a question - who's the better analyst here, roguei or Wrighty, and every single poster here says Wrighty 🤣

But anyway agree to disagree. Moving on

Can anyone recall Hanson playing much right side in Cup? Maybe back when he was occasionally paired with Ben Farr is what I can recall
Predominantly left side the halves pairing doesn’t fill me with too much confidence but it’s the safer pick for Webby but he could throw a spanner and put CNK at 6 instead

I see EIT taking the role off Nuikore next year and depending on form it could happen sooner or later. Nuikore was average on D v Storm. When EIT got his couple of starts last year he was electric. His D is on point and had a high work rate. Nuikore has his new 3 yr deal and can see him winding down as season goes on.
Not if our current form continues - winning is a great motivator (refer Roger and Barney)

Metcalf isn’t going anywhere

He’s signed to 2028 whether we like it or not

The big question is can we sign TB

At this current rate he’s going to get too many suitors for us to compete.

A bit of confidence with added experience is a beautiful thing. Just ask CHT. Boyd will be no different
He’ll definitely leave if he’s not starting

Lol who's debating

Im just pointing out the similarities where u have 2 teams that are firing atm with halves that probably weren't considered first choice at the start of the season but look a better fit for the synergy of their teams at this point in time....and then interested in how they handle or re-introduce (or maybe they dont) their injured play maker's....

Geez u like to get your knickers in a twist 😆

And for the record I always thought Metcalf skills more suited the modern day fullback since I first saw him debut from the Shatks....that opinion hasn't changed....even with his stellar season last year.
Yep put him at fullback. Everyone wins, We get a proper controlling 7, A beast at 6, and a fast X factor fullback who can pass the ball.
Everyone’s happy

Wow what is going on, fan question was CHT 6 what happens at 7, and the U17 coach was for the future, it should be Metcalf, Monty agrees about salary cap and SJ was like for higher ceiling Metcalf

While the screen was showing this 😂

Honestly like WTF

The definition of insanity is trying the same thing that don’t work repeatedly, what do you call it trying to repeatedly fix things that are working amazingly?

Are they just comforting Luke’s ego? I don’t know how Boyd or the team would feel watching this degrading, we just destroyed Melbourne for the first time in 11 years.

Taps the sign for the 101st time.

Metcalf is the only half signed for next year.

The modern day fullbacks role is brutal on the body.

If you want to know what it would look like, look at Turbos career and hes far more built for physicality than Metcalf. He'd disentegrate before your eyes.

I think people need to stop and actually not forget what Metcalf did last season. Now acting like we shouldn’t pick him at all is crazy. He’s still our future halfback at the club. When he’s fit and firing he’s a gun. You can’t judge someone of two games being back from injury. Just my opinion. But yes right now Boyd and CHT are our best combination. Anyways don’t expect a lot of changes this afternoon

When choosing players for a current team, surely you must prioritise current form over past form or potential future form.

Most of us aren't forgetting what Metcalf did last year, but the most recent history of us playing well without him and playing not well with him (followed up with him getting yet another innocuous leg injury) cannot be discounted either.

I'm just glad I'm not a coach, that's why I get paid the low-bucks :ROFLMAO:

With Tanah potentially missing this week's game what are the chances of Jett being named? Or would it be likely Hanson stepping into the 7?
Oh no....what if Jett absolutely kills it? Like big brother sort of kills it and just unlocks us to the next level even more than what we've looked so far? :p
I guess the goldfish's will be like "Tannah who?" ;)

Relax im just being facetious peeps :p

But seriously what an indictment of how the club's going at the moment that our conversations are about which quality player do we leave out of the most important position on the park rather than who can we scrape up?.....how times have changed

I feel that if we were to go all the way and win the comp it's more likely to be with Metcalf back to his best
Sure Boyd has been great but we need some x factor to go all the way
Unfortunately I have a feeling that we will never see Mets back to his best. Loss of speed is the biggest cause for concern
Hope like hell I'm wrong

Left field option but what about CNK in the halves if Boyd is in doubt? He didn't do too badly there when CHT got the HIA v Canberra. Wasn't he also in the halves when we beat Penrith in Magic Round back in 24?
Hes a good gap fill if you have either Boyd or Metcalf doing the bulk of the kicking on the right.

As much as I love CHT, his field kicking is probably his main downside. Hes servicable with mid range, but clearance kicks are not amazing. We would need to be dominating field position all game for a CHT/CNK combo to work. Unless Taine was to step in and do some yardage kicks.
