Pick Your Team Gold Coast Titans v NZ Warriors - [Round 7, 2026]

These home games make me super nervous. In many ways these types of games might be even tougher than against top teams like Melbourne. I've noticed that we are increasingly being recognized across the ditch as one of the top tier sides.

That comes with a target on our back: lower ranked teams like the tits are going to circle their games against us and aim up big time. I expect the tits are going to play the game of their season on Friday and I hope we are ready. Don't want to see the dumb shit we had in the tigers game like not having a dummy half at the ruck or blatant professional fouls in the in goal that ultimately change the momentum.

They have size in their pack but we should get over them physically if we turn up with the right intent like we did on Saturday. Given that we are selling out MSS every week, 2 disappointing performances at home in a row would not be ideal.

They'll get a 12:0 lead and then the following 20min will decide the game, we need to lift to get to 18-24 points otherwise for some reason we get blown away by these teams at home every time.

Maybe clearing our bench forwards after 20min could be the genius move, Webby's throwing a lot of stuff on the wall and finding gems this year LOL

eish - not convinced that performance RTS gave at centre is repeatable - Storm's edges were shit, he wasn't tested in defence and conversely their defence in that area was disjointed and unconnected. Overall I don't think Rog has a feel for the position, but he's a better option there than CNK.

Wouldn't mind RTS/Pompey/Ali/DWZ and RTS 1st drop L centre and AKP 1st drop outside back, TT/CNK FB/Supersub rotation

Thank goodness only took 6 rounds to find out, halves will take more balls to make the calls

I'm pretty sure this game is also a hoodoo for us. I'm pretty sure the last time we beat them at MSS was before the COVID era. Maybe that's something to get up for.

For the CNK vs TT debate, I think TT offers more in attack and his pace around the ruck adds to our momentum when we are winning the ruck. But his big liability is his height- Fletcher Hunt jumping over him for a try is something that I worry about when we come up against sides with bigger FBs like Trbojevic. Not super concerned against sides with other midget fullbacks though like Melbourne with Sua and Tits with Kini however.

Yeah, agree with that line up tho it does exactly excite me either - we have a real in between makeshift issues at centre - I think Ali obviously has the highest potential as a specialist of those currently fit, and if firing should be first picked. Roger is an amazing talent, but the skillset needed for centre is bolted on when he's concerned - he can do it, when the vibe's right but consistently? idk, and it would be a dsservice to his outsides, especially when that outside is akp

Just checked we did beat them in GC with Boyd at 7 in R25 last yr so that's a template Webby can work with and expand on, need to plaster the changing room with 666, although the ex-Titans players would chuckle at the awkwardness

but the last time we beat them at MSS was 7 years ago back in 2019. Last year and 2024 we shat the bed and back in 2022 TB kicked the winning FG against us. Given that we've been ending streaks recently, this seems like the next one on the list.

Need to make the MSS dry and fast like GC 🤣

Coach Webster was in my Central Auckland design showroom right now with his wife and child — looks like they’re gearing up for a big home renovation, and they’re also expecting their second child. I know his home address too now, and of course, we’ll keep everything completely confidential!

I welcomed him in and congratulated him on the win — he was genuinely stoked. He mentioned that during the debrief, the players were over the moon and especially happy for the fans who’ve stuck with them through that tough run.

I did cheekily ask if we could keep the same team and combinations this weekend. He laughed and said, “you liked that, did ya? We’ll see.” His wife Emily jumped in and said, “don’t worry, he doesn’t give much away,” but she agreed with me — which was good!

Good to see him renovating the home meaning he's still here for the long term.

Unless he's renovating to sell

If Jett debuts with us, will we fly Ivan and Nathan over to present the jersey? Won't that be a little weird?

I don't think it'll happen, but is it really that weird?

We're kinda intertwined with Penrith, whether or not we like to admit it and is that the worst club to have a positive relationship with?

I'm okay with it.
