Unless you're medically retired - which has to be approved
Yeah it is the usual cloudy cheating NRL culture of meaningless phrases if you look up the organizations codes "At the NRL's discretion".

In other words the same jiggery pokery cheating system that banned Adam Pompey for running hard and letting his front leg try to take a step fowards with no knee raise.

Much jeopardy for the Warriors then, no jeopardy for the Roosters in this scenario.

I think our pack will win the battle more often than not. And they can play off the back of that. Metcalf shouldn't be anywhere near the team right now......Boyd and CHT are the guys until form dictates otherwise

I had a thought on this particular matter.

I think it's all about the preseason.

Metcalf did last years preseason as the primary 7; gets injured, Boyd can't do much.

Boyd does this year's preseason as the primary half (Metcalf still recovering); is in very good form, until.....

He has to split duties with Metcalf.

What's the consistency? The players. They train for months, getting used to a particular players timing/tempo/calls etc...

If you change that out, you're negating alot of that understanding of how your organizers play and where you can inject yourself, as a player.

Just a thought.

No! We tell Boyd and CHT that they are the halves moving forward and hopefully there is a clause in metcalfs contract or that he needs to be go home for what ever reason.

Signing this type of player was a huge huge risk and I'm sorry but his body can't handle it.

I don't care if another club wants to take that risk.
Taps the sign for the 100th time

CHT and Boyd are unsigned for next year

My opinion is that the games we have won this year are the games where our forwards have dominated
Pretty simple game is Rugby League
Win the battle up front first and foremost

Funny reading people’s comments, I missed last week’s game but was one of the few confident that we could knock the storm over this week in the after match thread. I thought the team selection prolonged was good and kept storm guessing while others pointed out they couldn’t care less who we run out. Not to say that’s why we won but we were up for this in the manner of the raiders victory. We took it personal

You guys are putting a lot of faith in Boyd wanting to stay in NZ and I'm not convinced that's true. His story is different to say Fords or Metcalf's.
From what I've seen, which admittedly isn't too much, he's developed a future here when he was almost at last chance, and under Webby's guidance has flourished. Personal circumstances will be a factor, but I can't see why he would want to shift from a club that is very much in the ascendancy

For sure.

Here's the million dollar question. Why did they dominate in those particular games?

I suspect most would say 'dominated the ruck', 'out muscled them'. I think the answer is simpler than that.

It's also a team game. It's a hell of a lot easier to do your job when everyone's on the same page, right? It's also a hell of alot less frustrating.

I get sick of seeing people say we were his last chance because manly were interested too as well as us. Both opportunities were depth but he’s come here and earned where he’s at and think the coaching staff must be viewed pretty favourable after what they’re getting out of him

Ford was unwanted and told he was a reserve grader
Mets a boom rookie but was stuck behind Moylan and Hynes

Boyd was a schoolboys champ, had already been given the reigns of a 1st grade team and watched it all fall apart. While we did sign him, we signed him to run the reserve grade team, which he did admirably. But Boyd was never our first choice.

As we have seen recently attitude is so important.Turn up with anything less than 110% attitude & you are vulnerable.
In the warm up last night Munster & Hughes were having a great laugh.Might be there usual go to pre game ritual but I prefer concentration.

Yeah Metcalf needs to work his way back now. Boyd is running the show and I think almost everyone agrees CHT is a terrific 6

CNK has become old, and grossly overrated, Taine's defensive reads this season have left old man CNK behind.

Bellamy with the eyes shut in the box did not look good. I hope he is ok, all those years of overreacting must have wrecked his Cardio vascular system.

I think the Warriors need to take the hit on Metcalf's contract - call it a bust and rejig their Salary cap to take a hit to swallow up the near million dollars Metcalf damage has done to their overall spending power.

The club in my opinion need to reframe their cap to make Tanah Boyd their Marquee signing - and because of that, they need to cut some high profile contract/contracted players to place them in a competitive position to retain Boyd vs Perth, the Dragons, and probably the cheating joke that is the Roosters.

The reason I say this is that Boyd is 25 years old, he is literally metamorphizing into a great player under our roof.

We have taken hits on Salary cap contracts many many times in the past, too many to name, but Matt Lodge stands out eh. We know how to do this, we know how to take a cap hit and rebalance the books, fortunately for us we have no Junior players begging for expensive type protection from marauding NRL club snatchers (like the hit we put on the Broncos to pick up Reece Walsh).

Obviously everything I am saying is dependent on what Boyd wants, but even there the Warriors are in a good position to offer an attractive Job environment.

I honestly think that we are at a critical juncture, where the club needs to pivot away from plan A and invest in what is working this season, not what was written on paper last year.....and for mine that starts with Boyd #1 signing priority 2# CHT extension 3# Move on CNK, Dallin, Marata.

And I think the club need to either play Metcalf as a fullback in NSW cup or a utility 14 to help him find his compassionate release form and send him and his dicky legs back to the Mother ship.

If Metcalf is shot the club have a reasonable chance of getting released from that contract on medical grounds.

Lastly we seem to be on this path of pivoting anyway because Roger (who needs to go too) great player Roger, but hey I ain't the one turning these lovable fan worshipped Warriors legends like CNK/RTS/Dallin into old mutton, that would be time...
I mean RTS and Dallin were terrific last night.....in fact up until this point, Dallin has had a very good season

Was watching Moses Leo having a laugh as the storm were about to run out and Alec McDonald gave him a glare that looked like it said lock in

I think I was more making a point around preseason training and now important it is to set the tone for the year ahead.

We need to figure out who our long term 7 is and then try to find as close to a carbon copy of that player, as a backup.

If it's Metcalf, that's fine. But for this year, at least, I'd be sticking to TB7.

I agree about CHT. I would be locking him into 6 for the rest of the season, provided nothing drastic happens (touch wood).
