Not what I said. My comment was about the wrestle and the sharks finding their front consistently and therefore fast PTB speed

And you think this is the analysis of someone who is not a ‘casual fan’?

Look. You tagged me for my opinion, replied with a short comment and called me a casual for bringing up player synergy.

What are you actually trying to achieve here?

To stop the blame on individual players

Easily most disappointing aspect is the defensive frailty. Attacking shape with new halves will take weeks to get right.

Should be no reason for them to stroll over at will, awful reads combined with awful effort.

This will get worse next week, Storm off the back of a Bellyache spray will be looking for blood and I expect us to be standing around in our in-goal looking gassed inside 5 mins as the Storm pile it on.

Worryingly, Metcalf is a walk-up starter but can't be relied upon to get anywhere near a full season worth of games. He also needs a running start and is very much a confidence player, doesn't bode well for the future IMO. If he misses more games than he plays this year I'd be looking to move him on, despite his recent re-signing.

This needs to be Boyds team!
Haven't watched the game yet, not sure if I can after reading this thread.

One thing I will say is that if you spend the whole pre season with players doing reps for Africa, getting used to each other and building confidence, why would you change that unless forced to by injury or absolute crap form.

I think it was Boyd's team until it wasn't

Don't change a winning team is fair.

But if you can change it to get improvement, would you do it?

I reckon that was why Webby named Metty last week. He and Tanah haven't had a good start to their marriage. They may need the lawyers soon but injury has forced a rejig for next week.

Couple of years ago I engaged a lot more and it wasn't too bad. Now its either we are the greatest team alive don't change anything or drop everybody. So yes I do find it incredibly frustrating and am visiting it less as a result.

Fair.

I find the duality entertaining. But hey, to each their own.

I’m similar in that I try very hard to write losses off as “just a game” it’s hard but it would effect my mood far too much and it wasn’t particularly healthy for something I was supposed to enjoy.
I also found engaging in game day threads did alter my view at times watching the game, it’s quite interesting sometimes reading the thread after the game and see who gets blamed etc

Felt like a prep for the storm game then we lost form and Luke pulls his hammy again

I don’t know what they’ll do to fix that amateur right edge

Would be curious to know how much chat CNK does compared to TT and whether or not our front line is stronger with CNK at the back because of it - even if he's lost a step for the position.
Anyone questioning TT’s defence, takes under the high ball and overall game, are either related to CNK or just fkn blind. It’s a no contest…

Gameday threads are a written version of all out erratic yelling at the TV haha. Some of the takes in there are crazy but to be fair don't usually make it to the post game thread.

I guess I would have had to see something in training that made me reconsider. The NRL is a tough comp and reputation only gets you so far. Mets is undercooked no doubt and I would maybe have shoveled a couple of games in cup to get some legs working so to speak.
As for the dynamic, hard to say but there seems to be a glitch there somewhere and it could well be the old master/servant problem. Only a thought and worth some further discussion.

Someones defence at fullback is completely different to their ability to organise defence.

I don't think i've seen anyone question his defence, a couple(myself included) have questioned/guessed whether CNK is a better organiser. Given the last two weeks when we haven't completely dominated the ruck like weeks 1-3 the numbers have been cooked with both edges getting ripped. But again searching for answers not directly attributing anything to Taine.

The fact is CNK will not get dropped by Webby. So are we a better team with Taine at fullback and CNK at right centre. Or CNK at fullback due to Webby never going to drop him. That seems more to be the question, than questioning Taine's ability at least for me.

A very good point and also pretty much impossible to prove either way as fans. My gut is the same as yours, that CNK is good with the numbers on D which is what makes him first pick
