Nah they changed it a while back, you cant use the ground to regain possession
Interesting

As of the latest official updates, there has been no change to the NRL rule requiring a player to regather the ball before grounding it to score a try. This principle remains consistent with the Laws of the Game, which state that if a player knocks the ball forward, they must regather possession (catch, hold, or grip) before the ball touches the ground, another player, goal post, or crossbar. For a try to be awarded, the player must apply downward pressure on the ball with their fingers, hand, wrist, forearm, or torso.

No wonder the game is littered with controversy every weekend! Open for interpretation that ruling.

Dan Ginane: "Dogs are not guaranteed top 4 but that is surely a formality, despite this loss".

Really? Are we sure the dogs are guaranteed to stay in the top 4? There is actually a very realistic scenario where the dogs miss out and we stay in.

Dogs finish the year against Penrith and Sharks. We finish the year against Tits, Parra and Manly. Sharks have Newcastle and then Dogs. So If dogs lose both those games and us and sharks win both, dogs will drop out of the four. We finish 3rd and Sharks 4th.

Dogs coming first with 10 wins 2 losses when they bring Galvin in.

Since then they've seen 5 wins and 5 losses.
I'm not sure he's the guy
Really can't blame the young half for problems that happen midfield. Dogs lack of size has always been the chink in their armor and has been really exposed the last few weeks against the good sides. I can actually see them finishing the year with 4 straight losses as they finish the year against Penrith and Cronulla.

Their PD is still 50 ahead of the sharks so probably more chance of us finishing 5th than dogs finishing 5th. We have to win all 3 to lock down 4th, which I am quite iffy about given how we meltdown against the titans and DCE’s last game at manly

The sharks do choke and they lost their captain to ACL too so I guess it’s a lottery at the moment, hope we don’t have to cheer the dogs on in the final round lol

that's your opinion which you are entitled to. I'm just saying it is a very realistic scenario. Personally, I hope this happens so that the Galvin stuff blows up some more in the media right in time for finals. Karma needs to reach Belmore to teach their arrogant fans a lesson.

Ginnane had some pearlers last night (i think they said it was the entire top 4 playing against each other at some stage too...) - I can't shake the outlook there's a huge contingent of the nrl/aus media that are gagging for a dogs premiership, god knows why (tho i suppose it makes sense if your other options are canberra, melbourne and the boring outcome of penrith) - Brandy repeatedly saying in commentary 'i like what galvin is doing tonight' also gave me the shits, we were watching the same thing?

I know he is in a position where he gets the ball a lot. So, if you took a shot every time his name was mentioned you'd be plastered pretty quickly. You could adjust it to take a drink anytime the commentators praise Galvin. Or mention him more than just catching and passing.

Galvin will be good for the Bulldogs in terms of getting points or a match winning play. The problem might be getting into those positions. He is running around a lot but you don't see a lot of organising. The TV does limit how much of that you see.

But you don't see a lot of talk or moving players into position. Yes, there may be a bit of they are on top of their game so guys are likely doing their roles well. Still halves still slightly move their runners into position. This is something they were struggling with until Sexton came in.

Horo and Mason had a good point last week discussing the Storm vs Panthers game where they will be practising little subtle things. Whereas the Bulldogs need to gel in a few key positions.

Cleary after last nights games. We have had quite a few halves miss multiple drop goals from in front, close range. It would be good having someone take ownership like this. He has nailed a lot of match winners. The next one he will ensure would go over.

“At the end of the day I should be kicking that, so that negates them run up the other end, but yes definitely disappointing,” Cleary junior said.

Gee getting a bit of flack for his weak penalty reversal on Grant Anderson. Shows the way for any player to take exception like Kikau did and make a drama of something you see all the time in the hopes a penalty is reversed. Seems to follow his own playbook to a degree
Gee and the Bulldogs... it's no coincidence at this point.

You see it all the time at home games. The dragons had their arms in the air half the time and Gutho wouldn't leave the ref alone.

To me, there should be none of that shit going on. Either put in a captains challenge or piss off.
