🤖 Thread Summary

The Warriors' recent loss to the Dolphins has sparked extensive discussion among fans, with many acknowledging the team's valiant effort given a depleted roster. Despite the narrow defeat, some, Stalefish540 #202636, highlight Roger Tuivasa-Sheck's outstanding performance, and others are impressed with debutant EIT’s performance. Others expressed concern over the team's inability to close out the game, particularly in the final minutes, with several posters noting how players seemed to be standing around passively, failing to pressure ball carriers, Beastmode #202491. There's also debate regarding specific player performances, particularly Jackson Ford, sydneywarrior92 #202577 defending his contributions amidst some criticism, while others are not convinced by his impact.

A major point of contention is the two-week suspension given to Felise Kaufusi for a tackle that resulted in a season-ending injury for Jacob Laban. Many, The Salary sombrero 2 #203499, consider the suspension laughably inadequate, given the severity of Laban's injury and the perceived intent of the tackle. Others, Boats n Hoes #203544, draw comparisons to other recent suspensions, arguing the NRL's inconsistency is glaring. This incident has intensified feelings that the league's disciplinary measures are insufficient to deter dangerous play.

Beyond player performances and controversial incidents, larger strategic issues were also discussed, including the play-calling in the final minutes and the team's overall attacking arsenal. Some fans, Dannevegas #203004, believe the Warriors are too content with mediocrity, arguing that the team needs to take more risks and adapt its play style. There's also discussion about the role of trainers on the field, with some, Boats n Hoes #203636, believing they are overstepping their boundaries and influencing the game too much.

Good effort from the boys. Whilst it would be disappointing to drop out of the top 4 by seasons end, i think we need to be realistic - we arent a top 4 team. We have jagged a lot of close games this year and havent really had a game where we put the competition on notice. That's not a slight on the team and the effort they have put into the season, they have done really well with what they have had - and surpassed most predictions preseason.

We really need to build some arsenal in attack. We can only dodge bombs and get away so many times.

We did well to get back into the game and chip away at their lead. Then eventually get out in front. Who is in front at the end is what counts.

The Dolphins got over the loss of Farmworth and the Kafusi sin bin.

Like the Titans last week they weren't turnin the ball over easy.

The Dolphins had the class when it counts.

Man in the bin, on there try line, they should be scoring a try. Not sure why we think going to the corner would work. They’ll always be a risk of them scoring at the end. Either that or take the 2, waste a bit of time & get the ball back. That loss hurts.
Yeah just dont think the TMM and boyd combo is up to nrl standard all good for them to bully reserve graders but they look lost in fg.

In hindsight metcalf going down was the end of our season we should start looking into next year, we have the ability to be a top 4 team at full strength so bring on 26

Really do not understand all the Ford bashing. It's as if people cannot get over his past discipline issues, which have become less and less common. That error he had tonight was absolute bs from Klein. Other than that, he was a beast for us in the middle again.

Jacko has really stood up this year. He is quite literally the only reason why our middle hasn't collapsed in a heap with the loss of Barney. He's also stood up in both games where we didn't have either Barney and JFH (Raiders game and tonight). 200+m in that Raiders game and 150m again tonight.

What more do you want him to do? He was not the reason that we lost tonight. He is just a convenient scapegoat for way too many people after every loss we have.

Lot of Satanists and free falling Tom Petty's on here predicting our demise, I was quite encouraged by Healey and the young fellas giving it all until the end. Capes is our alpha now, he won't let the waka sink

Talk about falling off the cliff....since the impressive win against the sharks we have been lackluster in all but the tigers game....struggling to see any wins for the remainder of the season with them falling out of the 8.

Right edge defence is the worst in the comp.....bulldogs will rip it to bits next week. Make no mistake, if herbie didn't go off injured it would have not been a close game.

Sadly, I think tonight's and last weeks losses has put the warriors season on lifesupport in regards to making the 8...especially when you see the draw for teams below.

I don't mind losing close games. I hate reading other clubs fans calling us -once were's & never will be's - every year. Because , the last couple of games proves their points. We fucking suck at finals footy.
Waka put things into perspective — Luka and Barney coping season ending injuries absolutely fucked our season. Add JFH, CHT, Egan, and a few others out of the side tonight and those loudmouth fans can eat a dick.

We’ll rise again. Just look at our NSW Cup dominance, back-to-back Harold Matts titles, and a never-ending production line of freakish back-rowers.

What we do need is to go out and sign some genuine speed in the outside backs. That’s the missing piece.

We’ll break our duck before 2030 — at worst. One thing tonight confirmed for me: Tanah Boyd isn’t up to this level. TMM goes missing too often. And Ford… look, I don’t hate him as much as I used to, but the guy looks like one of those dumb poms chasing the cheese wheel down that dangerous hill competition — needs a spell.

As much as some fans might not be over past discipline issues you could make a good case for the referees being the same. His name is called out a lot like they are watching him constantly.

Couldn't agree with you more. Maybe we are being a bit harsh because they did lose Barnett and Metcalf-two of their best players.
