In a perfect world you have this guy and
Gannon bringing back the forward inter passing.
If you want to be a top ball playing forward it really helps to have another forward like
Gannon to play off. Obviously it hones your skills, but in game, you want a
Tohu and a
Walker to really get useful ball distribution, drawing in the defence at two points rather than one ball player being read and either shut down or just come up in a line and cut off the space and time of the runner receiving the ball....it is that second pass that puts runners on the front foot, changing angles etc.
I am hoping Gannons presence helps unlock Dimitrics passing game.
At training those two will throw some ball around, that is where
Webster et al will get a look at it and sign off on it. Otherwise expecting Dimitric to just go out there and be the lone ball player in the middle would be a gamble too far for the Coaches, you have to see it working in with the overall game plan, gone are the days of Jungle ball where one guy like
Ali Lauitiiti and anyone else who feels like it pop an unexpected ball.
The coaches need to see this ball playing of Dimitrics operating within a structure, you need two ball playing forwards for that to be realistic.
