General Warriors Preseason 2026

Hope Willie Mason is on the money
I highly doubt that big egg had a good word to say about us in 2025 but hey in hindsight he sounds like he knows we could've been fighting for the premiership if it weren't for injuries..

Paul Rauhihi was way better and Mason is just another kangaroo that Kidwell run over!

As the preseason content has been pretty sparse, it looks like we have a why

Sad to see one of the main driving forces behind the "up the wahs" movment, or the earls collection hertiage jersey, headding off to the knights. In my opinion he is a major reason why the rugby league resurgence after covid has stuck around. Here's hoping the knights pouched him rather than us trimming the media department. But his contributions to the warriors culture will be missed.

Such a shame. Had such a huge impact into creating the hype leading to and the gameday past couple of seasons. A lot of the sold out stadiums can be attributed to how they harnessed the excitement of the fans with the social media. Our social media game was top notch.

Shit journalist but a fantastic marketer. Best wishes Jackson. He will be missed.

I hope he hasnt already started at Knights....there was a really cringe post by Knights instagram yday that got totally trashed by fans yday lol..looks like they deleted all the comments lol

So Berry and Taine missing the start means we start with Ali, or CNK moves to centre and Roger to FB 😉

That feels a long way back for Berry. He simply must come back through NSW Cup too.

I reckon this paves the way for AKP in some way, I just don't see us losing two outside backs and that not allowing AKP to come in some how.

1. RTS
2. AKP
3. Pompey
4. CNK
5. DWZ

Ali would have to be next guy

It's a real nothing article. Basically the guys who are playing in the WCC or in Vegas are unlikely to play. They don't give any definites and don't mention JFH.

I can't believe Berry is somehow already back on the injured list. I would say he's made of glass but honestly think at this point that's an insult to glass.

It's a harsh reality but we cannot hope that one day he'll miraculously put together 20 games a year. From memory he's off contract at the end of the year so I imagine any extension will depend on how many games he can string together.

Thank god Pompey is the iron man!

What's wrong with Taine?

Back-up fullback Taine Tuaupiki, whom many expect to press hard for the starting jersey this season, also suffered a leg injury during "an incident on his farm" and made a later start to training. He'll be touch and go for the opening round.

Wait Berry's shoulder surgery is his SECOND already??

Sadly I think it's pretty much over for him, the neural damage from that Storm game 2024 sounds career ending, even Benji wasn't dislocating it by falling onto the ground

5th NEW ZEALAND WARRIORS

Rating: 79/100

Predicted pack: 8. James Fisher‑Harris 9. Wayde Egan 10. Mitch Barnett 11. Leka Halasima 12. Kurt Capewell 13. Erin Clark 14. Te Maire Martin 15. Marata Niukore 16. Jackson Ford 17. Demitric Vaimauga

Fear factor: 23/25 Matches the Roosters for the NRL’s scariest pack. If the Warriors get it right this year, they’ll bully every team they come up against. Led by Fisher‑Harris, Barnett and Clark, this side will go forward, and Halasima in open space will have every opponent fearing the worst.

Rotation: 20/25 Vaimauga will pack a heavy punch, while Ford and Niukore have proven more than reliable at holding the fort while the starters get a breather. Martin is a perfect utility for the side, able to play anywhere in the spine, even at hooker if the workmanlike Wayde Egan needs a rest.

Attack: 18/25 Halasima’s X‑factor alone is enough to put this pack’s attack in the top echelon of clubs, but the rest provide a no‑nonsense style upon which their game plan is built. With an abundance of talent in the backline, the directness of the club’s middles will create countless opportunities out wide. Just don’t expect the forwards to look too flashy.

Defence: 18/25 The tough and gritty attacking style will carry over to defence, with their forwards making life tough for teams trying to go through them. Not only do they have big bodies, but all players are willing to work hard for their jersey — starters and bench alike.

Our pack ranked 5th for 2026. The list is
1. Roosters
2. Storm
3. Broncos
4. Dolphins
5. Warriors
6. Sharks
7. Panthers
8. Raiders
9. Eels
10. Tigers

Check out post 773. Supposedly a broken leg in early pre season.
Done on the farm according to the Herald today. Which begs the question: Which farm animal would be against the Warriors?
Obviously not a goat because what would you have against a team of GOATS?
Sheep is maybe too obvious. They do live in a Rugby Union country, but surely that'd make them less likely to affect a Warrior as it's too obvious.
Either Cow or Chicken, for moine.
Cowboy Or Rooster? It's THAT! And beef or chicken make the best tasting meals, too, so, two birds one stone!
Never trusted Trent or Todd...

Not sure how the dolphins are ahead of us. Also Storm at second is a bit of a joke seeing that there forwards are one of their weakest areas
