Probably one of the only things that RFK has done that makes sense tbf.

Eating chicken (or any meat) more regularly, or in larger quantities, than vegetables & fruits doesn't make sense to me. I don't see how this addresses most people's diet issue of consuming more calories than they expend.
I wonder if the MAGA crowd will acknowledge the conflict of interest from those in the dairy, beef & pork industries who they advised on these changes

The whole ‘balanced diet’ recommendation is really individual.

It’s either quite broad and mainstream or you can’t really do it can you?

why the need for change though unless you're being incentivized by those who will profit from these changes.
The average American doesn't need to be looking to prioritize additional protein or increase their saturated fat consumption to improve their health

How did you gather that when meat, fruit and vegetables are at the same part (the top) of the pyramid?

Yes, unless you're supposed to eat more of the lower & narrower part of the pyramid? The anti-grain stance would prove that to be incorrect however
Unless my eyes deceive me, meat is on the same level as vegetables. Both of which are higher than fruit. Pretty standard advice. Eating 2000 calories of steak and vegetables is better for you than 2000 calories of grapes.

Is everything above the line supposed to be of equal importance despite the narrowing of the pyramid? If not, you'll find many fruits & vegetables below the chicken

Yes like Avocado which is high in fat. So you should eat less of it than say carrots. Which are higher on the pyramid . Grapes have significantly more sugar than say tomatoes so they are lower.

This is designed so children can (and do) understand it

So avocado is of as equal importance as beef? The new guidelines recommend that people should still consume only 10% of their calories from fat with is the equivalent of 2/3rds of an avocado. Doesn't marry up with the new focus on increased fat consumption
