Politics ðŸ¤¡ Donald Trump

I was hoping with Trump that he would change their economy away from war to production nationally and reducing defence spending.
That's a decades long proposition to transition to that without tanking the economy, if it was even a consideration.

Defence spending will always be big for the States though. He has done the right thing getting other countries to increase their spending though rather than relying on the US to cover the majority of it

I was hoping with Trump that he would change their economy away from war to production nationally and reducing defence spending. However with their nearly 1,000 overseas bases, foreign policy and deep state bought politicians and media not a happening thing. Then their total surrender to Israel carrying out their middle east policy.
I'll admit that I was similarly naive regarding Trump, particularly after Biden's term. But the reality is the American leadership is learning they are no longer supreme..

The fossil fuel companies are behind many regressive policies around the world.

We see the naked greed and aggression, the unelected, unaccountable dark corporate forces behind this American administration. The same forces that spin against science, against any kind of action on climate change, that want to tear the world apart in their greed.

The same forces that our own right wing government are in thrall to.

I listened to the All In podcast with the podcaster bloke who "uncovered" the Minnesota daycare fraud.

There is probably fraud going on and they did say local media has been reporting it for years but the guy did not seem like he did any real investigation, he just seemed like a cooker who took some rumours screamed them loud in social media and became an American hero.
He kept saying things were facts, then had no actual facts.

I will say he has put a larger spotlight on the fraud which maybe the mainstream media didn't/couldn't.

But if this is what journalism is now then the world is fucked.

It's disinformation, of which has been driven by those leaning right and steeped in conspiracy

The Venezuela invasion is interesting. If reports are true then Maduro was not a good guy and US oil companies had infrastructure and agreements that were not fulfilled (although that should be the right of a sovereign country when governments change).

But the US does not have a good history of running countries after they "invade". And invading a country and kidnapping the president is rightly illegal.

You have to admit it was pretty bloodless though, so there is inside help.

What happens now is what will make it a success or failure. Will they get free and fair elections, US companies stealing their resources, chaos, will the trumps get richer?

So this is who trump and the right are. Also why Europe must remain strong.

Fuck trump. Fuck putin.
Europe doesn't want the Ukraine war to end, that would cripple their already failing economies..

How long until Israel attacks Iran again now that the USA has effectively and by their actions set the standard that doing whatever you wish is not wrong if no one stops you..
