The word play is there for a reason. You missed the subtleties in the previous post, no surprise you missed it here. Maybe some more homework 😂
Just trying to make heads or tails out of some of the shit you spout that comes across as you trying to identify yourself as some sort of intellect. Even looking further I’m often none the wiser and gave up long ago putting too much thought into anything you post. Thankfully it’s not just me that’s inferior with Tokyo Warrior yesterday asking you to clarify a metaphor used. Really missed savage September this year, I had a great laugh at you blowing your load at your training regime. I hope it returns for 2026, might need a good laugh by then

I was in the states last month, it's fk'n expensive to buy a product that isn't made or provided locally. I know that's it's just street economics but a good example is that public transport is roughly the same price as Australia and NZ but a coffee is double the price and so are clothes. The disparity is fairly wide compared to somewhere like London where everything's more expensive than here but nothing is double the price.

The tariffs have to be a tax on the American consumer unless foreign exporters are slashing their prices by the amount of the new tariffs and\or importers aren't passing the tariff costs on so the consumer continues to pay what they've always paid for imported goods. Simplistic but how else could it work? Am I missing something?

Another notable difference was how quiet the airport was. It would be interesting to see what the projected hit to tourism is.

A 70 billion chop in the trade deficit is nice but just fraction of their increased spending : https://www.usdebtclock.org/
I’ve been looking at buying a set of cymbals from DCP, New England. They’re from the Sabian brand and manufactured in Canada. Buying them in Canada is the cheapest but Sabian won’t allow any of their retailers in Canada to sell overseas.

Before the tarriiffs, buying them in the States and having them shipped down to NZ was around 70% of the cost of buying the same set in Auckland from the Rockshop. Now the price is pretty comparable and it’s not worth the risk of getting them damaged having them sent down here. I’d still buy second hand/classic cymbals and have them sent down…. but not new.

The other option would be to visit Canada next time we’re in the States and then fly Air NZ directly from Vancouver back to AKL.

My wife’s best friend lives in Dallas and she says a lot of US producers have also taken the opportunity to raise their prices. She works for a major FMCG business and they’ve raised prices on both their imported and locally made products (they claim it’s to cover their import costs on material from overseas but it sounds as if very little of the material used is imported…. just seen as an opportunity to raise prices).
