Had a visit from my American relatives yesterday.

Had to sit there nodding and smiling while they talked about how Trump should be on Mt Rushmore.

At least the nodding and lying grin did the trick, they shut up about him.

I don't feel like a fake.

Because I have learned something about Trump this year, he will truly rip families apart if you let him. All of my families in America are pro Trump, and this has undone the work of my grandparents and my ancestors to pass down the things that bind us together as a hapu.

My Trumpian blood know I hate him, but I realized that in their Ohio bred brains, that if I reject Trump, I reject them in their cult.

I won't do that.

When i was in USA last year, my wife(american citizen) and her friend wanted to goto their primary school. Wife's friend grew up pretty progressive, mixed black dad, white mum), married conservative, religious guy and now lives in Florida. She is a school career guidance counsellor after workng in the education system her life. Anyway, walking around the school, i saw large numbers next to each classroom from the outside. I asked what it was. She calmly said its for the police/first responders to identify from outside where the gunman/victims incase of school shootings are.

How good is the proposed revealing of 5 years worth of social media data in order to enter usa now though? I can say trump is a racist fuckwit, and america is a shithole online somewhere and dont even have to go through a debate with wife on why we need to visit usa anymore!

Because I do not trust the media I do not know how good or bad the U.S. is. However historically they can be the best of the best and the worst of the worst. I recently turned 70, my belief is the US fundamentally changed 22 November 1963, JFKs assassination. It wasnt perfect but he wanted to find common ground with the Soviets and wanted peace through strength. I think Trump has good instincts politically but is essentially corrupt and cowardly. He wants power not to use power to effect change.
