Weren’t we going to keep it to 49 (excluding Taumalolo) plus 1 per round master? I’d be happy if we just revised the top 50 because there’s clearly better players that have missed out due to fox sports being clueless.

I have a different view. I would like to expand the top 50 and not drop anyone. I know we discussed otherwise but after pulling my spreadsheet together I have realised this could be a real scrap for players with 12 of us so I think if we end up with a top 70 approx that will be better.

For example a top 50 divided by 12 teams means you will be doing well to get 4 off the Hodges list. Top 70 or 80 means 6 or 7 each off the Hodges list using rudimentary maths but probably less than 6 or 7 as there will be 10-15 no one will want. But let people decide who they don't want rather than us deciding for them.

Yeah but he was a weapon at the Raiders, def a top 50, just way past his best at the Warriors.

Highlights the difficulty of rating players.

Some focus on their peak years (eg Barba), others their consistency over many years (eg Mannering), others grand finals won (eg JFH).

Then there’s different eras and how body shape and styles have changed.
