Social Wrighty's Player Agent Game Rules posted

I reckon keep it simple - don’t pay then you lose the lot, no refunds
If no 50% refund then it is a no brainer to pay the fine each time. Is that what we want or do we want the person to be in a dilemma with a decision to make. Thoughts. Going to bed now so will talk to you all tomorrow.

Dont worry wrighty ill make sure they regret not paying up :)

There’ll be heaps of ways Chris Hodges can stuff people’s teams around without necessarily having to just demand money. Was listening to Paul Kent’s podcast (it’s actually pretty decent, he’s not nearly as bad as when he was on 360) on the walk in this morning & he was talking about how some managers force teams to trade in players they don’t want. That would be quite fun in our game - either you bid the most for player x this round or player y leaves your club. Would introduce some real strategy from others in a bidding round - how much do u push a players price up for fear of potentially having to pay that price yourself if the other team decides it’s too much & let’s player y walk.

A potential issue I could see if there is no refund given is what if someone has used most of their salary cap and can't afford to pay the fine. Then they lose their player and can't afford to buy another player, maybe leaving them short. Not sure what size these fines may be or if this would be an issue?

Same thing is if you have a lot of Hodges players and say all of them leave if you don't meet Chris Hodges requirements, you won't be able to rebuild a good enough squad with the reduced cap from the money you spent on those players.

I think it removes some of the fun of the game because you basically would have to pay the fine or pick the certain player in your team every time Chris Hodges demands it, instead of it being a strategic part of the game where you could choose not to do it and get 50% of the spent salary back if that is better for your squad.

My first question to Chris Hodges is whether he intends to randomise the problems that he creates so that there’s an equal probability for each of his players each round to cause some shit?

Sold - I agree with these issues and it also creates some structure and boundaries for Chris Hodges and how far he can go. I will add the following rules.

Hodges player walkout rule:
If you refuse a Hodges demand and your player walks out, you will receive a refund equal to 50% of the amount you paid for that player (rounded down to the nearest $10k).

Hodges Confiscated Player Rule: Any player confiscated by Hodges will be immediately re-auctioned in the next round at a minimum bid equal to their original purchase price.

That is covered in the rules. There will be some unfairness in some getting luckier breaks from Hodges than others. It can't be applied with mathematics or www.random.org calculator or things are too predictable.

However rest assured that Tajhay is independent and has no vested interest in who wins or any bias towards any player.

That sounds fair thanks Wrighty.

Would the person who lost the Hodges player from their squad in the Confiscated Player Rule be able to bid for the player again in the following round auction or would they be excluded as the player already walked out of their squad?

Yes it will be random, and there will be a whole lot of chaos. Some not as big as others. Some may have $ implications, implications on next pick, some implications on where a player can play(or starting/bench), some may result in in-thread activity or social media (with proof). Some may result in not much of consequence. The big consequential stuff will be limited so as not to detract from your own selections or severely disadvantage anyone. However failure to enact upon requests will not be looked upon favourablly.

I will be fair (except to defence)

Love it - Hodges already showing zero respect for game master Wrighty & going rogue with his own rules!!

Could I suggest the potential for some between round trouble in the spirit of Hectic Cheese & Victor the Molester that creates problems for your stable of talent? I use to have the occasional beer with a former player back in Oz who’s main job was to keep the star player in his side’s weekend mischief a secret from the Sydney media… he’s on your list 😛

I like the random element to it, I’ve had diabolical luck past seasons so I’m due to have a golden run this game!

Might name my team the Wizards Storm to reflect the consistent unbelievably ‘lucky’ calls

(Hint, hint, Tahjay) 🤣

That person can bid again. But remember if Cameron Smith went for $1M and he walks out for you - next round when he is reintroduced for bidding he will cost at least $1M.

I reserve the right to request team name changes as well should you select my players ;) theres a few more id rather not say at this point.

Do you guys get to choose coaches? I have two fine coaches Stephen Kearney and Anthony Seilol available. Any team who takes them can expect favours :)

Hilarious - I would rather NOT have SK as my coach.
