He did a great job last year off the bench for the Roosters as well, I think he’s proven he can do both jobs if needed.
Saifiti and Stefano aren’t close to May imo, I can understand Jurbo getting selected showing loyalty to last years captain though.

Yeah agreed May was good off the bench for the Roosters - however he wasn’t really in Origin discussion then. It’s all come about since he played the big minutes this season, however his impact per involvement isn’t that special. I wouldn’t have any of the players you mention in the Blues squad. Haas & Barnett to start, can’t stand the guy however Leniu has proven his value at that level so I think he gets picked again, then I expect you have Watson at 14, whoever misses out on the starting 13 out of Crichton, Martin & Young, and then there’s one spot left. I’d be looking at someone like Koloamatangi or Olakau’atu who I think both provide a lot more impact than May.

I would be happy with Keon and Olakauatu coming onto the bench over Saifiti and Stefano as well.

One thing I’m very confident of is that Hudson Young gets picked - a Raider & he’s been incredible this year. I’d start him ahead of both Martin & Crichton. In fact I’m not convinced about Martin on this years form - if he lost his spot & it opened up an opportunity for Terrell then I wouldn’t have a problem with that.

100% on Young. I would start him and bench Angus.
He’s the form player of the comp.
I agree Martin has been average but I reckon he will be fine once he gets that jersey on.

May’s stats aren’t overly great once you adjust for the huge minutes he’s playing. Awesome SuperCoach player but I don’t really get the fuss about him missing out on Origin.

I'd still pick him over Utoikamano, for example - May's got a presence and a good offload
