Trainspotter question, what is notable about the bass player in he Shadows live clip?

My music tastes seem to be expanding as I get older. I have been a Beatles fan for a while though.

I also find new songs or artist from various places like movies or TV shows. Heard this one while out at a restaurant a few weeks ago.

Man this dude can right some catchy tunes. Also a good pick me up song.

Love his last couple of albums with Yoko, I've even come to love the Yoko songs.

Not convinced George and Ringo were geniuses, the other two and Brian Epstein probably were.
It is easier to make a case for George Harrison. Ringo Starr most of my memories are catchy songs your parents will sing to you when your young. Or I play for my kids now. Probably work well when you have sunk a few as well.

George Harrison on the other handy It is hard to stand out when your in a band with arguably the best song writing duo of all time. My understanding he was only allowed 1-2 songs on an album as the other two wanted to get their stuff out there.

He did write some great songs for the Beatles.

I'm not to familiar with his post Beatles work. I've seen some clips but some of them ended up being covers like Got My Mind Set on You or his work with the Travelling Willbury's.

I'll need to check them out. One of my favourite Beatles songs is The Ballad of John and Yoko. That is catchy as hell.

Just IMO, and those of many others, they were both genius level.

Ringo was a special drummer, no matter what anybody says. George was a strange fecker, as was Lennon, but he was immensely talented.

Within a couple of years of them splitting they had all sold more records individually than they had as a group.

I'm in Bruce. Mark Griffiths I'm thinking. Played lead for MSC but then bass for the Shadows. Is he still alive?
One silver milk bottle top for you Rick O'Shay.

I think he did pass away but I cannot find any mention of it, it hasn't got much about him on Wiki either.

A great bassist. The Shadows usd to let him go solo sometimes, he was pure class.

That was a major reason for the split.

You mean Eric Clapton? ;)
55 years ago and it still sends chills...George was a genius, but so is Clapton

I can't recall if it was on the Peter Jackson documentary or I read it. I'm pretty sure if was that song the others weren't to interested he brought Clapton in and told the others he's playing on this one and they perked up and wanted to come in and play on it.

I think that is something like how it happened. John Lennon didn't consider that Harrison was getting pissed off with not getting any records. I think there is a comment in the film about that, but it was all over then anyway.

Would have been unreal to hear Clapton do an album with the Beatles or the plastic ono band.

George and Eric were very good friends until Eric shot the gap with Patti Boyd. Was a good doco on Prime Rocks a few months ago with Clapton where he discussed it and also playing on the track.

Should be able to find it On demand.

His debut album all things must pass is one of greatest albums around I reckon. Went through a massive phase of it, every song is a good listen.
