What a let down this season is. I thought we’d be different but we’re doing a carve and copy of the Cowboys 2022-23 seasons. Getting that familiar shit feeling from past times when all we were hoping for was a win every now and then, amongst all the too many shitty performances like today. When in reality we all had hopes of a premiership this year.

We definitely fucked up and killed the momentum bringing Harris, SJ etc back. Bring in all our young brigade Halasima, Sifakila, Maiu’u, Leiataua, Graham-Taufa, Pasikala, Tauapiki they know how to win. Give Martin the keys to the team, him and Metcalf will make a good halves pairing.

On the 25th of April 2022 we lost to the Melbourne Storm 70 - 10. A margin of 60 points. Melbourne were second on the table at that time. We had years away from home and perhaps one of the worst performing coaches of the modern era in charge. This game we also lost by 60 points to the team placed 17th out of 17. Our coach won Dally M Coach of the year last year. WTF is going on....... I think our owner and CEO will be having a please explain discussion with Webster on Monday. A performance like this just does not happen randomly. It must have been building for some time and whatever has caused it needs to be addressed very quickly.

So first post here and what an auspicious game to make a comment on. So, been watching SJ play for a long time now. One thing I can tell you is that the football SJ is playing at the moment is the football he will continue to play for as long as he can get away with it. This is the form he was in when he was released four years ago. He wont improve! Tohu Harris hasn't been playing NRL football for sometime. And it's no coincidence that when both SJ and Tohu were in the team we were losing, when they were out injured the team began to find form and we started finding form with young hungry players. They both return from injury and back we go to shit again.
Montoya has also been out of form for most of the season, his get out of jail free cards must be all just about all played by now.
I see some people calling for RTS to go to. He isn't and never was a centre. Webby needs to own the shift the team is currently in and sack SJ, move TMM to 7 and allow TMM to run the attack and team in general. CNK into 6 which will allow RTS to shine in the only position he good at which is fullback. With Tane Tuapiki demanding time in the 1 jersey RTS will need to be on his game from the get go. Plenty of outside backs that can play better than what we are getting out of Montoya at the moment. Throw a young fella into his jersey. And like Montoya Harris has plenty of young loose forwards knocking on his door.
Well that's my 2 cents worth.

“SJ was fit but picked up something today”. - Webby
So at no time today or during the game did AW think of subbing SJ off and switch to having TMM and CHT in the halves. At no time did he think of bringing Laban on and pushing Walker back to 13.

The game was fucked well and truly before halftime but the fact we made no tactical changes like the above tells you a lot.

In his 220th NRL appearance Dylan Walker gets his first cap in the Second Row. That experiment was an abject failure.
Tom Ale hadn't played a single minute, in any grade in close to a month, so they hold him & Laban back until the score is 0-42.
Tohu turns back the clock to finish the game in the Second Row despite no injuries requiring that positional switch.

It all makes absolutely no sense

Playing Walker at 2nd Row (1st Appearance in that Pos for his career) and Jackson Ford at Prop (4th in his career) was an appalling lack of judgement.

Bunty should have started and kept Walker at 13, Jacko back to the edge. Laban more minutes - the boy has showed he can hold his own in the big leagues.

I doubt it makes a difference if the boys showed up with this same attitude but it’s hard when we are coming up with these lineups from the start.

A massive red flag on Tuesday at team naming.

Two massive red flags at the start of the game

    1. letting a winger sneak in in the corner and watching him run around behind the sticks. WTF!!

    2. Some of the one on one tackle misses were beyond reserve grade. U18 stuff. Walker and SJ especially had some pathetic efforts for senior leaders.

Something was really, really wrong when you start with that stuff.

Didn't rate the game. Didn't seem to have the right option available. Would seem more appropriate not having the poll this game.

The one good thing to come out of this game is the scoreline being far to big to gloss over.

There has to be changes. Will they be made and will they be the right ones?

Yeah this. Doesn't exactly DESERVE his wing spot after recent performances that's for sure. There are a lot of guys I would play ahead of him personally
With a mighty team like The Warriors, every position in the team is hard earned and contested for. Lord knows the struggles Kosi(and everyone else) had to overcome to wear that jersey. Specifically speaking, the struggles we don't see.
Let's rally behind our boys and remind them why they play for the best club in the NRL! ❤💚💙
Btw, Kosi to score +2 😁

    Good shout

Heading there at the end of the year with some friends. As above poster suggested, up north in December will be pretty cool.

Back to topic, I myself was in a very dark place to start the year off after my longterm relationship ended. One thing that helped me crawl out of it a little was joining the gym with a friend. Fitness is now a major part of my life and keeps me always pushing forward.

I was in a similar headspace when my only long-term relationship at the time broke up start of 2022, all of a sudden I had no idea what I was doing with myself and was experiencing lots of sudden emotional outbursts (or "inbursts" given it was all inwardly super intense) including one time I was supposed to meet to talk about a potential new role and ended up cancelling half an hour before cos I was a blubbering self-hating mess (which was a common occurence in those first few months).

It's kinda weird I feel like I was more emotional in that period than when members of my immediate family have passed away over the years (perhaps emotions I had shuttered away from those past experiences burst through the dam after I felt like I had failed as a man after the breakup).

Lots of long walks listening to health and fitness podcasts, eating better (even got myself a food scale) and getting back to the gym regularly saw me get to my lowest weight in over 10 years about 6 months later, which was a very big help in getting back to a positive mental space.
I have since got about 15kg heavier again but a lot of that is muscle (at least that's the story I'm telling myself :ROFLMAO:) and I am definitely feeling healthier than that period 2 years ago.
Also have found myself in a lovely relationship with a lovely French-Canadian (yup still going from the relationship status thread 6 months ago) so that's nice 😍

Moral of the story is basically "this too shall pass", "the only way is through", "there is light at the end of the tunnel" and all those similar kind of phrases are definitely true.
In the moment it feels like the hopelessness is going to be like that forever and your life as you know it is over, then you commit to doing just a little bit of progress in some aspect of your life each day (health, fitness, nutrition, study, career, creativity, social interations etc...), babysteps in a certain direction for a while then all of a sudden things are looking up, you are achieving things and looking back the episodes of extreme sadness/self-defeat seem a distant memory!

Good luck to anyone feeling that way at the moment, you got this 👊

You can only drop SJ once. I’d be wanting to make sure I was very certain that my other halves were the answer before I got rid of him.

We scored enough points to win the Storm game. The main problem we have is that when the other team get down our end from a mistake or a penalty they are scoring points. That is the big difference between last year and this one.

It’s not a half back issue for me.
