Whilst the aim of this forum is to provide a platform for all warriors fans to cry, whinge, celebrate and share in all the different emotions attached to supporting the Warriors, its worthwhile for everyone to remember to sometimes take a step back and reassess how it can impact mental health.

We are all Warriors fans, but we are all wired differently. What you may read or post may impact you differently to someone else. Prolonged browsing, constantly hitting refresh button, or waiting for someone to agree with you or like your posts etc can have an impact on your mental health. Reading negative replies to your own or sentiments can change your mood.

So with that said, please do not spend more time than you need on here - as with any social media there are pros as well as cons. There is also responsibility in what you post and tone you may infer with the language used. Everyone is different - be mindful of that.

This doesnt just apply on here but social media as a whole. This is simply a PSA. If you need assistance reach out. There are members who will only visit after a win, as negativity impacts them. There are members who have requested to be blocked from posting on the site for their own mental health.

It can be a rabbit hole so please take care of yourself and do your bit for the rest of the Warriors family too and be mindful of the above. If you need assistance, please reach out.

I was fortunate enough to be over in Brisbane for Magic Round with a few fellow Warriors fans.

I'm not exaggerating when I say probably 80% of fans in other teams jerseys gave an UP THE WAHS as we walked past, and there was nothing but positive vibes from them and wishing us well for the season. We have really made ourselves everyone's second team.

We were also fortunate enough to have SJ himself spot us on Sunday morning, and he gave us an extremely hearty UP THE WAHS BOYS as he drove past. Absolutely awesome.

Cameron Smith said on a radio show that the ending to our game had the loudest noise, like a playoff match. It was wild lol

Think Jazz will be a victim of timing, or maybe get 1 more year. With all our injuries this is his chance to make his case. Real shame he hasn't been available for the previous five weeks.

It's early days but Capewell seems to be a dud signing that is really going to hurt us for a few years. Does anyone have a more optimistic view on this?
I might be one of the lone voices but I thought Capewell was looking promising in the trials and early games, then the rib injury hit, really felt like he was carrying that into games and just lost all impact. Keen to see how he go's after an extended break.

The sin bin was quite crucial in the end. Gave us the opportunity to take the lead with two well taken tries that gave us a boost of confidence and belief just when we needed it. Putting that to the side, I do wonder what the difference was in this performance.
I take your point about our centres being more north to south but tbh i dont think there was anything too fundamentally different to what we've been doing (or trying to do). Yes we offloaded a bit more than usual but nothing to the point of "the shackles are off its Warrior ball time", Our 4 tries all came off the back of structure......using pretty much the same shift plays we've seen before - options of hitting a lead runner or sweeper out the back. But yes we definitely made the most of that sin binning,

But generally we were playing the same (increasingly unpopular for many it seems) "process" game that has always been Webbys plan. Yardage then a kick, pressure through your defence, win the territory battle, play the odds with the more times you get in that red zone the more chance you give yourself of scoring.

So if the tactics didnt change what was different that made our tactics more effective this week than it has been for ages? For mine (and as ive stated in other threads) we had our highest completion rate in 5 weeks and our lowest error rate.......this meant we were able to sustain pressure with ball in hand. Combine this with our best defensive effort (the first time we hit a 90% tackle efficiency rate in 5 weeks) and also an opposition who quite frankly we're doing what we've usually done gifting us possession and territory through an uncharacteristically high error rate and lack of discipline.....all adds up.

Now i guess the question is how much did the change of personnel influence this? And this is where i think people need to be careful before wanting ingrained wholesale changes based on this performance and where the Makasene "unsustainable" post from another thread is particulary relevant. Im more of a just wait and see how things play out before id commit to one particular course of action.

I think if anything this game showed that Webbys "process" is the process to follow (yes with a few tweaks and variations needed).....and that this process (or any tbh) heavily relies on having good defence and low errors, and that those are the controllables we need to hit each week to give ourselves the best chance of winning.

I am merely just stating/expressing my opinion /POV of how I see and understand the game. Im not a league player and have never played a game in my life but have been watching for quite a long time. I don't claim I'm right in what I say. We are all entitled to our own views for which I will not get offended. At the end of the day we all just want our team to do well.

Because they have no interest in adding to the forum, only in tearing others down.
He's not the only one I have seen on here either.

There are some really good posters on here that you can have a great discussion with regardless of whether you have a different opinion or not.

Regardless of your previous or current involvement in the game or even lack of it, why does that make an opinion or view or thought any more or less valid? And if it is something you don't agree with or think isn't right, surely discussing it and providing a worthwhile counter point or ignoring it is far better than name calling or posting shit that neither adds to the topic or adds to the forum.

'You haven't got a clue' or 'I bet you've never played the game' or 'insert non clever name calling here' is really a pathetic response to posters who are on a public forum sharing their views, thoughts and opinions. Let alone assuming those posters aren't involved in some way. Add to that, there are plenty involved in the game who have no clue also.

@Wrighty who is new to league, no flames, has some very astute observations. Some quite weird ones too though!

@MrFrankWhite I find fairly logical and I can 99% of the time follow his thinking of why he has a certain opinion on a player or issue.

Neither of these posters I agree with on everything but I certainly appreciate their posts and contributions. They also have life experiences that they can translate across to this great game and club we follow.

Sorry for the rant, but I think some posters need to pull their heads in and either contribute better, ignore posters that don't add anything or aren't worth responding to and/or accept that other people are doing the same.

the problem with a lot of you on here is you have very limited knowledge and have never played the game so you have such simplistic and uneducated opinions.

Please supply a complex and educated breakdown of why we weren't winning and why we did win this week.

You are quick to tear posters down. I'm yet to see a single post from you that adds to the forum in a positive way.

If we are such a dumb group of posters, educate us.

You do realize the coaches do a lot more than just pick the team, the problem with a lot of you on here is you have very limited knowledge and have never played the game so you have such simplistic and uneducated opinions.

It doesn't show that the injured players are the problem at all but someone with your limited abilities would probably think that.
Have some commonsense bro. We all know we're a bunch of keyboard warriors. The whole point of forums like this is to spout nonsense and find other like minded kents like my homie @MrFrankWhite

Not for people like you to put others down.

Disagree entirely. At the start of the season Egan & SJ were running around just fine.

Walker was great yesterday. Issue is TMM a shit 6, and Tohu is done.
    1. At the start of the season (rds 1-2) Metcalf was the half and sj was playing more sided than he is now. Then Walker and Metcalf got injured. So rounds 1-2 are not very relevant to my point.
    2. Walker was good yesterday, and so was TMM. Which is consistent with my point.
    3. I agree Tohu has been off form, but I think he’s been playing while injured to try and help us through an injury (whether he’s actually helped is debatable). I think he may have good footy left in him.

It was nice to see a smile on Webby's face in the post match. I may be wrong but I get the impression that he gives the team plenty of agency (accountability) when it comes to what they want to do, and club identity.

Ultimately it's the players on the field that execute, but I think credit goes to Webby and the way he has approached his role. I can see a real cuture developing here and I think he has been the catalyst. I also remind myself that he is, in effect, a rookie coach still learning his craft. He will get better, and I think he has the nous and temperment to do just that.
I'm rather intrigued to see the direction he goes from here.

Webster hails leaders after Warriors' Magic Round boilover

    Corey Rosser
Their halfback played most of the game with a suspected broken finger, a hooker with less than 20 minutes of NRL experience had to get through over an hour on the field and the fullback risked missing the birth of his first child in order to take his place in the side.

For those reasons and plenty more, the Warriors’ 22-20 victory over the Panthers on Sunday, which ended a six-game winless run that threatened to derail their season ahead of Magic Round, will be remembered as one of the gutsiest efforts in club history.
While few could have predicted the result given the Warriors’ recent run of form and the absence of nine frontline players, coach Andrew Webster said the signs were there during the week that his side was primed to turned things around at Suncorp Stadium.
“There was a lot of belief in what we wanted to do this week. What happened during the week and the way the boys were and [how they] focused… so many leaders stood up this week and wanted to own what we wanted to do,” Webster said.

“We saw the reflection of it [Sunday].
“We haven’t crossed out anything we have done in our pre-season, we haven’t said we need to change the world, we re-focused on what was most important for us this week and our leaders did that for us.
“It wasn’t coming from the staff; it was coming from the players and I am so proud about that.
We beat a really good side and I was happy the way we went about it. Just so tough and resilient and they just cared so much about making sure we did what we wanted to do.

With hooker Wayde Egan ruled out after 12 minutes due to a head knock, Paul Roache was required to play the remainder of the game at hooker in his third appearance at NRL level and came up with 37 tackles.
Both Jackson Ford and Marcelo Montoya also spent time off the field for head injury assessments, while halfback Te Maire Martin was going through issues of his own that nobody knew about.
The 28-year-old suffered a suspected broken finger in the opening exchanges but shook it off to lay on two crucial try assists in the second half for Ali Leiataua and Adam Pompey.

Late heroics followed from backup fullback Taine Tuaupiki – who was called into the squad to take the spot of Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad who had to move into the halves to replace the injured Shaun Johnson – with his try and conversion 10 minutes from time giving the Warriors the winning edge.
But the second-year flyer revealed post-match that he easily could have missed the flight to Brisbane altogether, with his partner Kitana due to give birth to the couple's first child any day.

"I got a little spray from Webby because although I told him a couple of weeks ago [about the due date], I didn't remind him," Tuaupiki said post-match.
"She's a trooper, she's been so strong and she could have easily just said 'no, you're not going'.
"It was pretty surreal... I knew we needed the two points [before I kicked the last conversion], but I just knew that if I stared at the clock I probably would have hyped myself a bit too much.
"It was exciting to have a cool little moment like that."

It's hard to gauge how much credit to give Webster as I'm not sure if there was a distinct change of tactics, more likely he just tried to instill confidence in them & the instructions was for TMM to play what was in front of him.
As for Ivan, I think he got a bit cute putting Leota on the bench & carrying Peachey in the 17 when he had Soni Luke available. Kenny can't play 80 minutes week after week or he'll burn out & miss 7 tackles like he did yesterday. Luke can kick too, as shown by playing #7 in NSW Cup, so all the load wouldn't have all fallen on Luai either
We have to give him a lot of credit for the performance. Regardless of who wasn't playing, Webster obviously created an environment throughout the week to instill confidence and more importantly a desire to stay in the fight and defend. This forum has knocked Webster for the performances in the last few weeks. He deserves credit - head coaching is a tough gig.
